Any of you people getting the phone call from a fake security firm trying to get you to turn on your computer to give them remote access so they can steal your shit ?

I got one today, my wife has had maybe 10 in the last month. But I handle it differently than she does. By the time I was done with them they were furious and telling me they were going to fuck my mom and my sister and my brother.

I told them they were sick mother fuckers because my moms dead, my sister weighs 400 pounds and my brother isn't a homo but I guess you are. I asked them what fucking country they were from ( they were ME), they said China. I said bullshit, Chines people are smart and you're a dumbass, although I'm sure your dick is probably the same size.

Then he said he was the son of Osama Bin Laden, I said you mean that Mother fucker laying in the bottom of the Ocean. Then I started singing to him " There's a log in the bottom of the sea, there's a hole in the head of the log in the bottom of the sea."

He said we're coming for you . I said bring it mother fucker ! He finally hung up.

I had him on the phone for about 1 hour. The first 45 minutes he was trying to get my log in ID and password and I kept reading him some bullshit number, told him I'd just have to go get my glasses finally. Hold on. I waited 5 minutes then got back on and said , Oh , I see my number clearly now , it says Fuck YOU !

Congratulations. You wasted an hour of your life with a scammer to tell a story that isn't funny.

oh yeah, I told him by the way I've taped this whole conversation and I have your Phone number on caller iD, (It said private caller) and I would be reporting his ass and to expect a knock on his door soon. He said "You can't Do anything"

If you have the time, I support this. It cuts into their time scamming other people. A lot of people fall for this scam. Dude was obviously an extremist sympathizer. Nice job

Well, it sure entertained me and I feel really satisfied. That's why I answer those calls. Beats boredom

I don't remember the last time I answered a call from a number I didn't recognize. The only time I would is if I was expecting a call at a certain time.

They actually did this to my mom whose 85 and got her to scan a check to them for $1100. We got a stop payment done just in time.

Then how do you participate in market research surveys? Because they're really important and help make the world a better place.

I did something similar to a "tech support" guy trying to get my Windows login a few years back.

I had him on the phone for about an hour and pretending that I was as computer illiterate as maybe they want to believe. I pretended to get in a fight with my wife and started fake crying about how my job sucks, my life is a wreck, and how I haven't had sex in months. Tech support guy had nothing to say except "sorry" and was insistent on getting that Windows login.

Eventually I gave him some fake bullshit about warnings and how I kept getting errors. Finally, I got bored and told him to fuck off. In his Indian accent, he told me I was a poor actor.

Never got a call back from any "tech support" since, so I wholeheartedly agree that you should waste their time. I only wish I could do the same with these assholes cold-calling my cell phone about car warranties.

Ive seen a couple potential ones on dating sites. They use any random picture and try to entice lonely dudes into signing up for some random site that promises they will smash lonely housewives

I don't have a landline anymore so if I get a call from some scam artist on my cell, I'm generally very short with them. I just say not interested, if they keep going I just tell them to fuck off, hang up and block their number. The guys I mess with once in awhile if I'm in the mood are Craigslist scammers that are trying to pull some kind of bullshit with a text when I'm selling something.

I haven't had one show as Rain Man on caller ID yet but I will make sure to answer that one. You can never get enough opinions about candy so I will be happy to help out with that survey.

I hardly answer calls from numbers I know when I'm not at work...

I was getting phone calls from "Microsoft Windows" for a while. Probably around ten calls over a six week period. I had a lot of fun with them. They always ended up pissed off and cussing at me while I laughed.

There are a few threads on this. I had one that caller ID had my number and one that said phone scam.

I've given a few of them the business too. So does my wife. We gave up our land line in the move, so those go away.

The problem I have now is that the caller ID has LOCAL numbers. So it could be someone local, usually not. I always wonder if they can hack my mobile with this tactic.

That's a socially responsible and well-considered answer.

I've never got one of these calls, and I've never heard of any one of my friends or family getting one either. Strange.

I've got several of those calls. Some on my cell and a few at my shop.

One of the guys here at the shop fell for it and gave them access. Whatever they loaded on it made the computer useless and it's since been trashed.
