My son has been asking me all kinds of football and Chiefs questions mostly about the greats that played for Kansas City Chiefs. When I got to talk about Joe Delaney and showed him a video I choked up.


I was so proud to tell the story of a real American and Human hero.

Yeah, it's an amazing story. Pretty sure he didn't know how to swim and went in anyway. Rare selflessness.

His death was the first one besides family to ever hit home with me, it really meant something

He wasnt the best swimmer, yet never hesitated to jump into what turned out to be a tangled knot of obstructions beneath the surface trying to save multiple kids at one time... saving one of them

A real Hero

I hope the playground in his name looks better than the last time I viewed it
