Ned is the definition of bullpen roles. Outside of the 2015 playoffs, he's always done it.

You should use your best pen arm in the highest leverage situations (outside of the closer). If that's the 6th inning, then so be it. I still do not understand the thinking of inning roles from today's managers, when you have all these bullpen specialists to choose from.

I imagine we'll go in the shitter for a week or so and the next time we run into an ace pitcher, we'll hang 8 on him and start a new streak. Such is life as a Royals fan. We can only hope that the last streak on the season is the one that gets us to that 88/89 win plateau, not the one that keeps us at 81/82.
