I mean, apart from the usual "bring him in for a look"....might he actually be worth bringing in for a look?

Who would he displace, Frank Zombo? Surely he's an upgrade on him.

Hmmm....probably not gonna get away with 2 backup LBs that don't play special teams (Hali being the obvious other), agreed.

But man...fuck Zombo. I haven't seen a less effective OLB get this much run in a very long time. Surely they can manage to make due without him because he DOES end up playing. Teams always get injuries in their LB corps and with Hali being old and neither Ford or Houston having exemplary health histories, that 4th OLB is gonna play again this year.

Sure would be nice to have someone that doesn't suck getting those snaps.

I could be possible that they put Jones/Logan/Bailey on 3rd downs with Tanoh at the ROLB position from time to time, as opposed to Zombo.

It's a damn shame about the Nicolas injury last year because he was ascending and may have knocked Zombo off the 2017 roster.

K-Pass is not a linebacker. I'm just not seeing it.

Dude could prove me wrong, I guess, but he looks like a massive 5-tech all day to me. His stride is so long and his hips are just a little too tight to play in space. Not bad, mind you - certainly incredible for a man his size. But still not someone that I think can play there and certainly not right now.

As for Okine; looks like a JAG. And Dadi is likely to be on the PUP and then IR. By the time he's ready, I don't think they'll want to clear the roster room for him after missing all of camp and that much of the season. He was green anyway. They'll just have him sit out the year, condition the leg and be ready to go full bore next season, IMO.

Yeah. People roll their eyes at that but a 6'7'' dude is taking a damn long stride every time he moves and it takes that much longer for that stride to end. That's great if he's trying to cover ground but not if he has to change direction.

Which he'd have to do plenty of as a standup OLB.

Guy just looks born to play a 1-gap 5-tech to me. Alternatively you could put his hand on the ground in the Nickel sets (not unlike I'm suggesting with Ealy in the other thread). But I think he's far more of a down lineman than he is a linebacker.

We need a pass rusher. Aside from Hali, We don't get enough production from ROLB no matter who plays over there and he's older than dirt. Hell yes bring him in. Houston and Ford are great on the left side but everything changes on the right.
