They have the Chiefs picking 11th and taking Marcus Stroud of Georgia...

NFLTalk rates him as the SEVENTH best DT in the draft. Kiper doesn't even have him rated in the top 5 DTs and he has 4 of them going in the first round...

I hope they don't do something like that...

Chiefs will hope that John Henderson, Deshawn Foster, or Micheal Bennett will fall into their laps or they'll trade down and take Lamont Jordan.

If CP and MaGoo are still in charge, when Stroud got to camp, they would they say thought they were drafting Morris Stroud, because they like tall TEs who could outjump defenders
the milkman
taking shots

The blurb on him from sportingnews:

3. Marcus Stroud, Georgia

Ht./Wt.: 6-5/305. 40: 5.00. Grade: 7.4.

Strengths: Has great size, speed and potential. Has the ability to control the line of scrimmage. Uses his hands well to shed blockers and shows tremendous natural strength. Shows outstanding footwork and moves like a defensive end.

Weaknesses: Hasn't reached full potential. Probably has better overall skills than teammate Richard Seymour, but doesn't work as hard. Often fails to stay low and get good leverage on blockers.

Bottom line: Stroud's potential is sky high -- now he needs to work to reach it. He could be the most gifted lineman, but he gets lazy and takes plays off. He has all the tools to dominate against the run and pass. Despite marginal work ethic, Stroud should get drafted in the first round on potential.

Overall he sounds like a young Glock. (take it easy Clint) Sportingnews has him ranked third and on paper sounds like a good pick. My fav would be Shaun Rogers from Texas who's ranked 2nd by Sprtnews.

What, no O-Linemen available? How about a QB that will ride the bench, never be given a chance to develop and then sent packing? How about some no-name DB that we'll get rid of in four years?

Something like you suggest, htismaqe, wouldn't suprise me.

forget all of them, Big John Henderson is so dominant he's being compared to Reggie White! http://www.chiefsplanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I agree that John Henderson is a phenom (but he is rumoured to be staying for his senior season).

This is an important draft, and drafting for potential, ESPECIALLY a guy who has DOCUMENTED, POOR WORK HABITS is a BAD IDEA.

Next year we need to draft for IMMEDIATE performance. That means DT, MLB, or OG. And they have to be ready to start day 1.

Shaun Rogers or even Seymour at this point would be a better pick, at least we know kind of what we're getting.
