Snowing here, just a dusting at the moment, but the roads are VERY icey.

Just outside Hamilton MO, about 45 miles north of KC, or 45 east of St.Joseph.

It's mid-60's here in Houston this morning. As I understand it, the temp should drop into the 40's at 7:00 tonight and be in the 30's tomorrow. Guess I'm gonna have to pack up and move further south. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm happy to say that it will be in the low 80's again today here in Orlando. I wore shorts & a short sleeve shirt to work today and drove in with my windows down.

Bob Dole has never read of an instance of asterisk consumption that resulted in death. (But of course, Bob Dole has never read that Elvis won a playoff game, either.)

That said, the front is supposed to move in later today and dump some ice and snow on us. While that's not a big deal up there, it shuts down everything in sight in Northeast Texas. Funny as heck to go to the grocery store and watch people buy all sorts of bottled water and staples just because the forecast calls for a 50% chance of snow.

We have a blizzard going on here in Chicago. Wind speeds are topping out at 30+ MPH, the temperature's right around freezing (32 degrees Fahrenheit) and we'll probably end up with about a foot of snow. Once the snowfall's over, we'll have a couple of days in the teens and single-digits.

The only good thing about it--other than the beauty of fresh snow--is that my sweetie-pie's flight back to her new California home was cancelled. At least one more day for her with me: hubba-hubba!

Just thought I would bring this one over here for all you that are house-ridden tonight:

"Just thought I would let everyone know before I head off to play a little Par-3 night golf here, where the weather is overcast, but still 52 degrees, that as far as I know:

Elvis has still not won a playoff game(but i won a playoff game in a ping pong tournament once, does that make me an All-Pro?)"

12-11-2000, 05:12 PM
Old Man Winter is kicking the sh!t out of us up here in Chicago. About 8" on the ground so far, another 4" expected, temperatures dropping rapidly, wind blowing like hell creating blizzard conditions.

My car is parked on the street and totally friggin buried. I'll dig it out, and then the snowplow will finally come by in a couple of days and bury it all over again. Won't be driving anywhere for a while.

But I'll take this over 95 degrees and high humidity...

12-11-2000, 05:14 PM
BTW, maddog, you suck...

12-11-2000, 05:14 PM
95 is perfect. I can always discard clothing whereas there is only so many layers you can put on and still move. Ever tried to swing a golf club in a parka & snow boots?

FWIW, it's still in the 70's in Houston but the front is moving in quickly. 80 miles north of Houston reported temps in the mid-40's at 5:00 Central. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

12-11-2000, 05:28 PM
Well, at least they've moved our snow to tomorrow evening...but they've raised the chance to 70% and noted that significant accumulation is possible. Looks like Bob Dole will get Wednesday off.

12-11-2000, 05:33 PM
Hot, humid weather sucks my a$$. I'M FAT! I'm well-insulated for the cold, but suffer like hell during the summer.

In my perfect world, it would always be cool and dry...

Will take cold and snow over swamp-like summer weather any day.

12-11-2000, 06:13 PM
Fraz... I am with you. I can take the cold a lot better than the heat. And I don't consider myself even close to fat.

Kloster.. you can have the warm weather today and the 30 days above 100 this summer.

Unless it is slick under foot, I rarely miss my evening run during the winter, but the heat of the summer can be more than I can handle (unless I am beer-boating, but that is a different story)

12-11-2000, 06:17 PM
Bob Dole never misses Bob Dole's evening run.

Even if Bob Dole is out of town, Bob Dole runs from the room to the bar (rather than from the front door to the fridge).

12-11-2000, 06:21 PM
I NEVER miss my evening runs.... or morning runs for that matter. I feel much the same towards runs as some of you feel about 100 degree heat.
