View Full Version : Can we win the AL Central...

...by continuing to beat up on the crappy teams in the division (everyone except the Twins), and not doing that well against the rest of the league? I'm lazy, can anyone do the math for me?

Well, we got 72 of the 162 games, against the AL Central.

Let's say we go 45-27 vs the AL Central (which means we'd need to go 32-24 the rest of the way, including today vs Detroit).

Definitely doable.

Now, for the other 90 games, we need (and this will be even harder) to go 45-45, an even .500

Do the math, our record would be 90-72

That should be enough to win the Central

Even after this great start, it's a big step to make. It's possible, but let us not jump to quick and put a hex on them !

But it's good to have something to cheer about between the Jayhawks and the Chiefs !

The key is going 500 against the East and the West. Winning two out of three from Baltimore and Tampa Bay would help this considerably. We could go 9-9 against Minnesota, and 6-7 the rest of the way against the Chisox.

500 against the East the West. That will be the key.

The next nine games (3 with Minnesota, 3 at Toronto, and 3 at Boston) could give us an idea if it's attainable.

Given this year in the AL Central, I would have a hard time not believing that wouldn't win the central...

After last night's win, we are 15-3....... with 144 left ........

If we play .520 the rest of the way, that will put us at 89 - 90 wins .

BTA, .600 the rest of the way should give us home field in the playoffs with 100 -101 wins !

I would say anywhere around 90 wins will get the AL Central.

Can the Royals make the playoffs?

Torii says, "Hell no!"
