NFL.com asked the question..."Is Tony Gonzalez the best TE in the NFL..."

The replies were interesting...

3 from the Baltimore area said Shannon Sharpe was... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

1 from Indy said Kent Dilger... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

A guy from Illinois...a Rams fan no doubt...said Roland Williams... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/confused.gif

I think Shannon WAS the best TE...sorry not any more...if we have nothing else...we do have the best TE...

I havn't figured out how to add links yet...

NFL.com....click on link "best tight end?" below shop banner...

Joe, the easiest way is to just cut & paste the url. UBB automatically makes it clickable.

The only way that gonzo is going to stay the best te in the nfl is if they keep throwing to him. Elvis has to spread it around more and not lock in on gonzo all the time. I like what they do when they spread the defense ot with the multi-recevier sets, it gives more room to operate.

Undoubtedly, you can be more fancy about it, Joe but the way I showed you is the easiest....

How do you respond to the insider on NFL.com?

There are no doubts in my opinion, Gonzo is going to re-revolutionize(sp) the Tight-end position!

I love this:

quote:
Mr. Gonzalez' next great block will be his first. Is this guy really a tight end? He has a tight end's body, but where's the mentality?
Bob DuDonis
Baltimore, Md.

quote:
What can't he do? I don't think there is another tight end out there that puts as much fear and pressure on a secondary. Sharpe has the speed of a wide receiver, therefore a linebacker is to small to stay with him. He has the strength and power of a small lineman, so most defensive backs do not have the strength to check him one-on-one.

Seems funny that the criticism of Gonzalez doesn't apply to Sharpe. Sharpe couldn't throw a block if it would save his life.

I'm wondering if these Baltimore fans would be saying Sharpe is the best if he wasn't playing for them?....

Sharpe isn't the best, and it wasn't readily apparent last year because he was hurt.

It will become apparent this year, with Tony Banks as his QB, that he misses Elway as much as the Broncos do.
