The TSN poll of League GM's:
Who are the league's best players?
1. Peyton Manning age 24
6. Edgerrin James age 22
11. Marvin Harrison age 28

And Bob Dole sees that Donnie continues to get snubbed by being ranked #78.
Bob Dole is convinced that will change by this time next year...<P>

Let's see...
A #1 overall pick--well, I guess he should be pretty high
A #4 overall pick--same applies
A #19 overall pick. - logical
How many #1 overall picks has Indy had in the last 15 years? I would be very interested in their average draft position in the first round during this time.
I guess all those 1-3 win seasons pay off after a while dont they?

Good point KCTitus.
Bob Dole also knows that three talented individuals does not a championship team make.

I disagree with Manning being #1. He is one of the top QBs in the league for sure, but as far as #1 "player", I don't know about that.

I intrigued myself, so I thought I would go and look up the actual draft records from 1985-1999.
Here's what I found:
Indy had 14 first round picks during those years. In one year, 1992, they had the #1 and #2 OVERALL picks. During those years, Indy had the #1 overall pick 3 different years and had the #2 overall pick 3 other years except for 1992 where they had both. This was an average draft position of 8.1
KC had 14 first round picks during those years. We did not have a #1 overall pick, but did have a #2 overall in 1988. We only had one other pick inside the top 5 in 1989--DT. Our average draft position was 17.0
