Offensive playcalling improved

Granted our first two drives were as conservative as you can get, but after that I was impressed with our play calling.

Look at how many drives were killed by dropped balls - It isn't Raye's fault. He called the right plays, the receivers ran good routes, they just couldn't hang onto the ball. The playcalling in the redzone at the end of the game was excellent also - Alexander dropped a sure TD and Lockett was wide open on 4th down.

Why the criticism with Raye after this loss. As Elvis would say, he can't call it, throw it and catch it himself.

Running Bennett on third and 6, or so? He made his share of stupid calls. The first quarter reminded me of the Baltimore game last year. If our coaching staff has so much confidence in Grbac, why won't they let him throw a pass until we're past our own 30? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I agree that the first quarter was conservative. I think it is a reflection of Gun, more than Raye. Gun said last week he won't pass it deep in our zone. I agree, he must not have full confidence in Grbac.

I still thought the playcalling for the last three quarters was pretty good. Lots of open receivers dropping balls. We should have had at least two more TD's.
