I really don't need to say much here. We all saw the games today. After the AFC West spectacle I'm feeling pretty good about Broncos chances to not only win the division but also go undefeated in the division. The season will probably not be as exciting without any competition, but I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too!

Yeah, our Chiefs sure looked awful going into the 4th quarter tied with the Indianapolis Colts. If you want to talk about cakewalks talk about the one the Rams are going to have tommorow.

Colts would've beat Broncos 45-10.
we'll see you in three weeks. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

just exactly how is the donc's 0-1 better than the rest of the divisions?(assuming the obvious .........doncs 13....rams 38)
chiefs played a close hard fought game that imo was a lot closer than the final score......when the doncs get run from the twa dome tomorrow night it seems to me that the chiefs will look alot better after week one

Wow. I didn't even read the whole post the first time (the title gave me enough stupid material to go on). Undefeated in the division? LMAO!

I don't expect the Broncs to be within 17 points of the Rams tomorrow night when it's all said and done. Especially at the TWA Dome in STL. Hell no.

Play a game then talk son....
The West will be a physical, throwback division this year.

I know that you are all feeling pretty lousy, but I'm not sure that the Broncos had anything to do with the way your team played today. Yeah, the Colts did keep you in the game until the third quarter, but you all saw what I did. A pretty sorry showing when your team had a great chance at beating a Colts team that did nearly everything it could to help you out. Lucky you played them at the begining of the season, it could have been much worse (and deep down, you all know it). I will be the first to admit that a loss tomorrow night is a possibility, but you all know that if the Broncos loose, it won't resemble the beating you all took today AT ARROWHEAD of all places. And since when are Chiefs fans satisfied with being close going into the third quarter AT HOME against anyone? Sound to me like your expectations already reflect the state of your football team.

I guess I understand why nobody is interested in talking about this.

I don't think anyone was "satisfied." The point was the Chiefs had a chance in the third quarter until the INT turned things around, in my opinion. That's all.
NO football fan is happy their club plays well for only three quarters of football. All you ask for is to be close in the fourth quarter so you have a chance to win. That did not happen today. And I was very UN-satisfied with the effort.

Broncofan,
Your Donx "spectacle" begins tomorrow in St. Louis. Let's see how you feel after that one! *grin* EVERY team in the West, including your "cake eating Donx" are fully capable of beating each other because NONE are that great. NO WAY the Donx go undefeated in the division. I'd be surprised if the AFC West Champ wins 10 games. IMH0 9-7 wins the thing - just like last year.

I don't know what to think if your Donx "loose" the game, but WHEN THEY LOSE I hope you come back for your lumps. You're so scared you can't even spell a 4 letter word!
Oh I forgot, your Donx didn't "loose" a game in preseason but I bet they LOSE their first REAL GAME! LOL! "LOOSER" I mean LOSER!

Actually DonkeyMan, I was pretty pleased with the Chiefs effort. After the debacle of the preseason I admit I thought this would be far worse. I expected a 35 - 13 score. The score was bad but the team showed progress in several areas. The Chiefs lost a horrible game to the Bears to open the season last year. We still finished 9-7 and should have won the division. We have a tendancy to start slow and this year appears to be no different. If we make progress then EVEN IF WE LOSE next week the season is not over. We just have to improve week to week and we can still Gunther or way into the playoffs (despite the worst efforts of the three stooges).

Donkman,
Denvers defensive line is below average, your defensive backfield is a joke. Your QB is Kitna waiting to happen.
You do have good offensive line and running backs.
Rams 34, Denver 10. Only this close if Rams try to run out clock second half.
You may be in the hunt for AFC West Title with the girls school schedule you have. Chiefs sweep Denver again in 2000.

I can't believe that you all felt that the game was close going into the fourth quarter. Yes, the SCORE did not reflect the fact that the Colts dominated the entire game from the kickoff, but evaluating a game means alot more than looking at the score (I thought you KC fans might know this). I guess all of you feel that Cleveland did great against the Jags yesterday since the score was close during the 3rd quarter. Here is what I saw.
a)The same terrible play calling that got you a 9-7 season last year when you actualy had a chance to win the division(great opening drives!)
b)Recieving that would embarrase a college team.
c)A Decent performance by Grbac - Not terrible, but not as good as most of the starting qb's performances yesterday.
d)Good running by Richardson, but they made sure that he would not get the ball to much. Guess Chiefs are sticking with that rbbc.
e)Terrible defense, Colts moved the ball whenever they really needed to. Good defense is not getting lucky when James drops the ball on the 1 yard line, or when Peyton has his head up his butt, and hits a linebacker in the numbers.
f)A sloppy team. How many times did the chiefs jump offsides? How many times at ARROWHEAD. I don't even remeber one false start by the colts.
Overall a pretty sorry showing, but yes Chiefs were closing going in the 3rd quarter!

>>I can't believe that you all felt that the game was close going into the fourth quarter.<<
I don't know who's post you read. I said the Chiefs had a chance in the third quarter UNTIL the interception.
I also said what ANY football fan wants is for the score to be close in the fourth quarter so you have a CHANCE to win.
Gee, any football fan knows Bronc the stats aren't what wins games but the scoreboard.
If you are being outrushed by 100 yards but only down by four with a few minutes to go, you have a chance. That was my only point.
I don't know where you got this about we were happy because the Chiefs were close in the third quarter. Can't recall anyone making that statement. If so, please paste it for me.

Not sure who this guy is... but, it would have been better to have saved this until after Denver plays tonight.
I must admit, I'm not too thrilled with how the division teams have performed in Week 1. I figured Indy would win, but from what I saw of the game - KC looked all right. Nothing to write home about, then again... nothing to beat yourselves up about.
It's week 1 - there's lots of time for improvement.
How about that Chargers/Raiders game??
That game sucked.
Seattle... WOW! Who'd a thunk it?
As for Denver, well - they could lose by 13 tonight, and still be considered contenders for the AFC West. That's sad.
Anywho - I'm still thinking that Denver can run with the Rams, just depends on how well they can establish the running game. God be with our cornerbacks!
Ok, I'm out - have fun.

Don't worry about this guy. Broncos will be 0-1 after tonight's game with the Rams, just like us...

MH - I tried the same... with the same result.
Anyway, Denver is hurting now - with TD limping on a twisted ankle & O Gary gone... ouch. Sorry dude - seriously, that sucks.

This divison (AFC West) is up for grabs and will be until the end of the year. All five teams are about equal in talent. Many Denver fans are encouraged by what happened the other night. I dont think that they should be. Warner threw three picks and the Bronco defense scored a touchdown and they STILL couldnt win. I will admit that Denver looked better than any other AFC West team this past weekend. It is to early to crown them champions.

At last some interesting, halfway intelligent conversation from both sides. In most cases, it's obvious you all have done your home work, watched film, etc. Not to take sides here, but the Bronco's did look pretty damn good. Personally, I was shocked at Griese's (please excuse the spelling, but you get the drift)maturaty and effectivness. Denver just may have stumbled onto something here. Which brings me to Elvis Grebac (?) Is this guy boring or what? Did any of you watch the Raiders game? And just who is rubbing the centers butt for the Raiders? Was he NOT a winning QB for the Chiefs? That has to be one for the records.

I agree with BroncoFan. Denver played one helluva game against the champs. Griese played awesome and only made a couple of mistakes (like not throwing the damn ball away ---What's up with 4th and 33?). Denver's a given for AFC West--possibly undefeated in the division. And the Chiefs?...Well they tried real hard, didn't they? Good Luck, Squaws!
