Look at the absence of posting...Almost creepy...

Noone except Glanville would even announce a pick...These games are always awesome. i feel fortunate to witness it.

I predict with a loss, that some headhunters will come out, but the silence says we might have a chance?

Anybody getting psyched?

I'm psyched. I admit I'm totally unsure of what the outcome of the game will be. In my picks for the week I just went the homer way with the Chiefs. I think they CAN win the game, but I'm not sure if they WILL. I can't wait until tommorrow.

Well put...I'm not as nervous as past....I think they can, but it's mile high. i like the local commentator's quote...." They respect each other, and the games are always close..."

By no means does Denver take us lightly...I know for a fact they got back from Faiduhville @3am, and the coaches slept in the training room, and started at 6 that next Monday....

Gman - I feel that way before every game, we could win or we could lose, that is the good thing about being a Chiefs fan. We are good enough to win against anyone.

Morphius - True, but with our three previous games I was almost SURE when I picked that I would be right. Indy is Indy (although they may be a tad worse than I thought), Tennessee had the Adelphia string of wins (which turned out to be a much closer game than I thought - another team that's overrated), and SD was SD. I have no clue about this game, especially with Frerrotte.

Same with me, Dan. It's hard to be in full Homer-mode when the last time you saw the Chiefs play was against Pittsburgh last year and since then all you hear is bad stuff about the team. The San Diego game was the first game I EVER saw any promise from our coaching staff. Maybe that's why I'm so optimistic about this game. Hopefully homerism isn't clouding my judgement, I wouldn't want to fall down the picks list because I was a blind homer. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

Go Chiefs!

i liked Elvis' attitude regarding POTW...Nonchalent..That's nice , it's just one week..."

He's starting to sound different in his interviews...He's starting to sound like a leader. Say what you want, but if he wasn't playing in KC, he'd be trying to beat us in Denver or Seattle.

POTW? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/confused.gif

Elvis is definitely one of the reasons for my optimism. I was probably his biggest critic after that spike incident in preseason. If he plays half as good as he did in the SD game for the rest of the season I'll be happy.

Player of the Week

Ahhh. I should have known that. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

What I meant was he was staying focused and poised...Remember the offense opened up after his comments befor the SD game. 5 TD's in one game is no fluke...The potential is there...The playcalling has to be advantagous to the other teams weaknesses...Grunnny is TOTALLY giving him props for his play and resilence...Have you noticed a different demeanor from the interviews on the Home Page?

09-23-2000, 09:07 PM
Stevieray - I have a feeling that it is because he finally got that win. Plus I think Gun respects the D of SD, sure they were a little short at corner, but there front seven are always good. I'm looking forward to the game, anything can happen.

You know that I don't predict much on this board, but I'll go out on a limb and say the guy is rounding a corner in his career...He IS the main reason we have an offense at this point...He used to get hit and stay down. Now he gets hit and comes back and scores. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif Wish this was Elvis' game face...

I'm waiting and hopeful for tomorrow's game.

I still think Gunther is the big problem. And if he "pulls in his horns" tomorrow it will guarantee a loss.

I am convinced more and more that it is not the players, it's the coaching that's been the problem...

And this from an old Grbasher... http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

Well Said Fly,

I used to think it was Grbac myself, but like you I am becoming convinced that it is the play-calling and the don't lose philosophy that makes Elvis look bad.

09-24-2000, 12:02 PM
I see some of you are starting to see what I've been talking about. I have been saying, along with a few others, that Grbac was a better QB than he's had the oppotunity to show. Raye's playcalling has, more often than not, put Elvis in a position to fail. Last week's game put him in a position to succeed, and we all see how he responded. Let's hope the coaches liked the light of day when they finally pulled their heads out last week.

Ok, watch the props come in this week...Know why everyone didn't pick a winner? I can't tell you how exciting this game was, live....
