View Full Version : The Chiefs Dominated the Seahawks...

10-03-2000, 01:35 PM
Kinda http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/confused.gifThe Score Board didn't reflect the game.

I would say that the chiefs were as close to dominating as possible w/o being called a total homer.

I'm gonna do some woulda, coulda, shoulda;

I think the first qtr sets the tone for the rest of the game. I believe the refs also agree. Our first pos, we could move the ball. if Slymo wasn't wearing a Springs cape and Styo makes a kick...different result. Seahawks first pos, we were able to shut them down. Now for the refs. They sent a message, there will be no PI calls, NO taunting, and we're going to watch every lil' issue (this ain't synchronized diving).

Lastly, we had a brain hemmorige on one series in dealing with Alexander. Yes they deserve that drive and score.

Thus, They don't score their first pos, we get a field goal our first pos...score board reads 27-10. I feel that is pretty dominating.

I'm saying all of this in defense of what some folks are saying that we are not a very good team ie. Denver let us win, Bolts bad team, Seahawks bad QB...didn't dominate anyone.

First, congratulations on winning.

Second, your woulda coulda shoulda opinion counts for zero.

Seattle scored first and was up 14-7 at the half and 17-7 somewhere in the 3rd quarter before the chiefs made their move. They were good enough to win.

Dominating? If you call Seattle running for 189 yards a sign of chiefs domination then yes, chiefs were dominating. The largest factor in chiefs domination seemed to be Kitna and what he failed to do. Maybe that was because of dominating chiefs defense or maybe Kitna did what he's done for five games now - not much.

Hoping Raiders get to see and play against same team you did...
Sorry, but I think you are a total homer.

The game I watched had me squirming in my seat with nervousness.

When we dominate someone I don't squirm anytime during the game.

10-03-2000, 01:59 PM
Great game last night,,but I wouldnt say either side really dominated the other.
As you said shoulda/woulda/coulda....Had Kitna connected with that bomb in the last 30 sec's,,,how would it have finished up?

......Go Raiders

As I have posted under another topic, I think if you look at the stats from the first half to the second, I do think the Chiefs did a lot better.

Whether or not they dominated, that is another story. But a win is a win.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to go with the others on this one. Watters, that mother @#!$%^&, really started to smash all of my hope in to the anus of a 375 lb female gorilla. Other than that, it was nice to see the team play up to it's potential for the second half... AGAIN. I wish they would just play that way the whole game...

10-03-2000, 02:19 PM
Gladly accept the Homer title:d

Maybe dominating was too strong. I understand "ifs" too, if my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle.

My point was that we are better than what the score indicated. I'm tired of hearing that the other team beat themselfs...as to we had nothing to do about it.

We were able to move the ball. I felt confident with minimal squirming. The first half consisted of 3 drives. The refs controlled the half. They had one good drive. The rest was all Chiefs.

10-03-2000, 02:23 PM
I'll go as far as saying that we "dominated" when we had to get it done. We were out played and out coached for 2 and a half quarters. When we had to get it done - we did and that was the ball game. I like how this team is coming together. It seems like when it is time to "dominate", we pick our spots and get the job done.

10-03-2000, 02:31 PM
Was is not the Seahawks last year where we dominated the first half completely only to drown in the 2nd?

I would rather dominate in the second half as long as the score is tight.

I agree, I would like to see a "complete" game. These sparkles have given me a lot more hope than I expected this season.

10-03-2000, 02:32 PM
The Chiefs didn't dominate anyone. To tell the truth, in the 3rd quarter, I thought their goose was cooked. I was anticipating the retribution and harrassment from rival fans that would be spewed on the board today.

A big play turned the momentum, and the 12th man shut down seatles offense as much as the defense did.

I'm happy with the win, and feel satisfaction. I guess I'd rather see a close game, in doubt until the end(4th quarter at least, before the chiefs put it away)

10-03-2000, 03:08 PM
And you all call me an idiot. Chiefs looked like they always do. And DOMINATED like they always do?

It's funny to see Raider fan(s) chiming in, as per usual.
Oh I forgot, it's the first half of the season...

10-03-2000, 03:20 PM

I sure didn't say that the chiefs dominated the seahawks. It was a good game, barring the penalties and the good guys won.

I see that you are obviously feeling some inflamation from another beating by a team much *worse* than the mighty broncos. Heck, maybe you should have put in Jarious Jackson, and the rest of the probowlers waiting on the bench. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

dessert chef:

It's amusing that my comment affects you so much that all you can do is chirp about Raider fans instead of addressing the actual topic...

10-03-2000, 03:52 PM
Your right Iowanian... this team doesn't dominate anyone. That would be three-and-out on defense with 7 minute clock killing drives for TD's on offense. I think the defense is playing zones to protect the corners, but we may see more man-to-man, blitz, three-and-out's later in the year. This team reminds me of the 13-3 bunch that found ways to win games.

10-03-2000, 04:03 PM
That remains to be seen. There's been much improvement since pre-season. We are a young team with more potential to improve than say Denver/Raiders.

These sparkles of elegance carried for a full game will provide the dominance. Is it there yet? no. Can it be? yes. Will it? Based upon our past history...I hate to say it but, probably not. I can always hope. That's why I am a fan.
Bronco Fan,
Do you think that you can beat the Chargers??? Sticking with the topic theme - will you dominate them?? IF your Donx lose to the Bolts (and I hope they do)will the Bolts be just another "worse" team to beat the "mighty" Donx?? STILL LOL!

10-03-2000, 04:52 PM
I see you are all still defensive of your team, even after stringing together 2 wins against division rivals. And frankly, you should be.

And why is it exactly, that all of you feel that I hate the Chiefs anymore than I hate the Seahawks? Don't give yourselves so much credit. I was happy when the Chief won Monday night. Why?

Chiefs got outplayed for most of the game at Arrowhead, just like they did in the game against Denver. Even with Kitna (possibly the worst quarterback in the league)Seattle looked like the better team.

Sorry guys, Chiefs don't actually worry me. Now, if they start to play decent football, for even 2 straight quarters, then I might start to get worried.

In addition, I like the way all of you ***** about the officials even when you win football games. Chief fans are IMO the biggest bunch of whiners in the league. I must have seen 10 posts today about how the "Refs screwed the Chiefs".

Chiefs have a long way to go (even though they have managed to sneak the last 2 wins), but chief fans have even further to go.

The Chiefs have a bunch of rookies playing, and they have not really put together a complete game to this point, Yet they still manage to beat the mighty donks, and the seachickens. - - - - Just wait till we start firing on all cylinders!

You said it yourself the Chiefs didn't play very well, But we have the big play ability to score quickly, and a defense that can be scary at times. If the Chiefs keep improving there will be no stopping us in the AFC WEST.

Maybe we can be the Team to take down the Mighty Rams too! if we keep them to 30 pts, and Elvis has a great day it is possible!

Personally, I thought that was the difference betweeen the good teams and the poor ones?

Good teams win games, even when they don't dominate (say, KC at 3-2) and poor teams lose games they should win (like, say Denver at 2-3). http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You all sure change your toon quickly. Might be wise to remember your coach was about to quit 2 weeks ago because your team played so terrible.

2 more week might bring a completely new season, so lets hear it now while you still can.

Bitter, bitter, little Broncofan. First, you know as well as I do that Gun was never going to quit. It has been addressed ad nauseum on this board and in the press. He was talking to his team about the pain of loss and how it can make you want to quit. His point was the exact opposite: Never Quit! Obviously, this was lost on Kevin Lockett. K State is not known for producing scholars.

Actually, we've beat three divison rivals in a row. Beating your subpar Denver team at home was the second win, not the first. Whether you or your underacheiving team is worried about KC is not my concern. The fact is we beat you in your house. I hope you outplay us at Arrowhead if the results will be the same. See that big red cloud above you in the standings? That's us.

You seem unable to realize that this is a young, rebuilding team which is playing with a lot of passion and a "never say die" attitude. Did KC dominate the Seahawks? Clearly not in the game I got in AZ but they won! Just like in Denver, remember?

Anyway, how does fourth place feel? I guess your team is improving over last years, last place, squad. Congratulations!

BroncoFan - did you WATCH MNF last evening? If so, even YOU should be able to acknowledge the pisspoor ref performance. I'm able to admit when the refs do poorly, even against a team I have no lost love for.

Try it. Mikey likes it.

10-03-2000, 09:18 PM
no, we didnt dominate the seahawks but we did beat the seahawks, and the broncos......

i find it interesting that any donx fan plays the "whiner" card in any debate since their team is led by the masterwhiner

I'd have to say we dominated in the only place we needed to...final score. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You did not answer my questions??? I can't imagine why! LOL at your 2-3 Donx. BTW, when was the last time they put a COMPLETE game together?
