F-16 might be tough. You could probably swing an F-14 Tomcat, as they are being retired. I like them better anyways. Variable swing-wing geometry rules.

My favorite plane will and always will be the SR71-A Blackbird. I sat in one when I was younger. (Before it got put up as an exhibit in the Cosmosphere)

My favorite plane ever is the F4U Corsair. It was the fastest single engine plane in the world during WWII. Anybody got a pic of one?

Awesome plane. They use to fly over the UofA in Tucson on the way to the base out there in the Desert. Loud, Ugly, and DEADLY.

They used to run Lake of the Ozarks at around 500 feet ... they use the boats on the main channel as "targets" for practice (they just light them up on the radar).

Totally sweet, and by far my favorite flyby over Arrowhead (although the stealth bomber flyover is cool as well).

No respect for the F-15 here? An F-15 could down a gaggle of F-16s.

Well, sort of. The ME163 had a single engine. Of course, it was a rocket engine.

The F-22 and F-35s will be replacing the F-16s and F-15s so if you have the millions to spare they would probably sell you a stripped down version. You can get a Mig-21 pretty cheap but the maintenance will cost you more a year than the plane.

No, but a neighbor of mine used to let me drive his.

I want one of my own. I may have to shoot down terrorist Cessnas.

I thought I'd better go get the companion thread to the assault weapon thread.

I'm a fan of the Corsair as well. Probably my US Fighter from the WWII era.
Internationally I've always been partial to the Spitfire.

I miss having that air show at RG. The 442nd's A-10's were a blast to watch. Those A-10's just fly "smooth".

Anybody ever seen the old B-70 Valkyrie out at Wright-Patterson? Mach 3 Strategic Bomber that was cancelled shortly after Francis Gary Powers amazing high-dive act.

Sweetest ever in my book, either the B-58 Hustler, or the old FW-190 Gustav.

I have no idea why we are replacing the F-14,15 and 16 there is no air force in the world to compare and the Mig's are crap anyway

The SU-37 might have something to do with that.
