A Dozen Unanswered Questions For Dan Rather:

1. Have your investigations discovered any other documents that resemble those in question and feature the proportional spacing, centering, kerning, and superscript found in the documents in question?

2. Have you found a typewriter of the type and model used by the National Guard in the early 70s that used the Times New Roman font and featured proportional spacing, centering and kerning?

3. Have you found an expert that can explain why the Times New Roman font used in the documents is an exact match for the Times New Roman font used by Microsoft Word (which, itself, is slightly different from the Times New Roman font used by Mac computers)?

4. Can you explain why Killian would retain copies of copies of copies instead of the originals in his own files?

5. Can you produce the names of the experts who inspected the documents before your story aired to determine whether the typefaces were possible in the early 70s by the typewriters in use by the National Guard at the time?

6. Can you explain why the person who wrote the letter decided to hit the RETURN button at the exact same spots that Microsoft Word automatically wraps the text?

7. Can you explain why the documents appear formatted to the Microsoft Word default settings for paper sized 8.5" x 11" instead of the standard size of 8" x 10.5" that was commonly used by the National Guard at the time?

8. Can you explain why the documents in question ignore the protocol that was used in creating National Guard memos of the time or why certain abbreviations are different from those used in other contemporaneous National Guard memos written by Killian?

9. Can you explain why General Staudt would be applying pressure when he retired from the National Guard the year before?

10. Why did your producer say that the documents were in Killian's handwriting when they talked to General Hodges and/or otherwise leave him with the impression that he had been misled?

11. Why do you think General Hodges, whom you claimed said that Killian supported the contents of the memos, now thinks the documents are a "fraud"?

12. Why didn't your report mention that your producer had contacted Killian's wife and son who both said he didn't have any secret files and that neither believed the documents were accurate reflections of what Killian believed?

this just gets me.

the allegations are not credible, the paper was a forgery, he has no need to deny or comment on the allegations.

I think he has denied these allegations a few hundred times already. The only thing new that CBS brought to the table appears to be forged and the comments they used to support the forged documents came from people who are now saying CBS lied to them.

But keep digging...I'm sure this is a winner...

Look man- I already said that this freaking thing means nothing to me. It's as important as when Kerry was in Cambodia or nicking a quick blow job. But lets at least admit some of the hypocracy that runs rampent on the board, okay?

To you, NOTHING can disprove it. EVER. We know that. :shake:

But to anyone who can look at the friggin thing objectively, who isn't so wrapped up in partisan hatred that they can't see the obvious truth of it, it's clearly a fake.

$10,000 Part Two: The IBM Selectric

First of all, thanks to the five people who have each pledged $100 a piece in addition to my $10,000 offering. Therefore, anyone who can reasonably recreate the CBS memos on equipment available in early 1972 will be receiving at least $10,500.

Seriously DC.. You are the one grasping at straws if you actually think a typed document from 35 years ago just happens to perfectly match a MS Word doc in default settings.. Don't you find that to be just a little too incredible?

There are many other problems with the doc that I would be happy to educate you on if you are truly interested in the truth..

Lemme know..

What do you think Fringe.. Deep down Jaz, DC, and whoever else took a little time to actually look at the evidence has to know they are phony.

I like to think I would be man enough to face the music if I were in their shoes.

I typed it up and compared it myself, so I know for sure it is an exact match except for the blurriness of the original..

**EDIT** This issue is really disturbing to me.. To think that a major news organization is apparently trying to influence the upcoming election is a problem that everyone should be concerned about. I will not rest until CBS News apologizes and recants and Rather and the rest of the CBS news dept. is fired..

If you're going to sling that out there, just answer the questions.

Can you explain to me why, for instance the date and signature lines on the letter match EXACTLY to the default tab spacing in Microsoft Word?

Anyway, answer the questions Poindexter...then you can take your tin foil hat off...
