I have the 1st two movies on special edition dvds. I'm ready to get me a copy of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King special edition dvd. Amazon just says it's not released yet. I been watching the other ones lately and I'm antsie to get the 3rd installment. Anyone have a clue as to when they plan on selling this?

No release date was given for the set, aside from "December." However, the Collector's Edition was officially revealed. It'll include the four disc set, a Sideshow/WETA statue of Minas Tirith, and a fifth DVD documenting Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings Symphony. As with The Two Towers Collector's Edition and the Gollum/Smeagol statues, it'll include a coupon that you can send away for a matching statue of Minas Morgul; however that will set you back another $70-$75.

BTW, anybody heard if/when there might be a Collector's Edition boxed set? I haven't heard anything, but I'm sure they will eventually. I imagine right now they don't want to hurt sales of the individual extended editions by announcing that a complete boxed set is in the works.
