Arkansas State converts a huge 3rd and 18 on a 29 yard pass play down to the 4. 1st and goal.

And a 15 yard penalty sets the Indians back.

Ultra Peanut

Holy. Shit.

This was God's way of saying, "There. Even," after all of the collapses and implosions of Tiger teams in the recent past. Louisville TD pass with 6 seconds left. Collapse against Tennescared on the final drive to lose 19-17 in 2000. 4th and 27 away from a bowl berth in 2001. Pretty much the entirety of 2002... We sent those demons away last year, and now they are DEAD. KILLED. EXTERMINATED.

I don't know exactly what the **** happened back in Jonesboro, but I'm pretty sure I hugged ten people I didn't know and nearly 'sploded a Sierra Mist bottle on a railing after the THANK YOU JESUS AND SCOTT VOGEL fumble and return. Then Vogel picked off a pass to seal it, and DeAngelo made a wicked cut on one of those "nice and easy, kill some clock" runs and put it in the end zone for the capper.

Possibly the worst game I've ever seen the Tigers ever play (okay, not really... I can think of some really pathetic 13-10 style losses in the past; but close). The defense gave flashbacks to 2002, repeatedly giving up first downs on third and long, and the offense kept driving deep into A-State territory and getting just 3 out of it... shit, that 30-yarder came after the Tigers drove down to the Ark State 1, getting a delay of game, and a fumble out of bounds after the ball slipped out of Danny's hand while he was trying to throw. Like a repeat of the Southern Miss game down in Hattiesburg last year, except we actually somehow won this one.

Speaking of which, D-Wimp should have had at least ten more completions in the stat book. Avery dropped two he should have had Davis dropped two easy ones, and Doucette was WIDE OPEN and streaking towards the end zone on one of his drops. Ryan Scott bungled one, Doucette had another, Pratched had a huge third down pass hit him in the hands that he couldn't secure... sadly, the list goes on. Horrible game from the receivers, who still aren't going at even half effectiveness yet.

Arkansas State's receivers, on the other hand, were CLUTCH. I can't think of one single incompletion that wasn't forced by a defender (and as shitty a game as the DBs played, -- I hope Tristan Thomas is okay -- they still only allowed one score in the second half), and on one particular third and long in Memphis territory, a guy was covered by Wesley Smith (I think -- maybe Essex) and caught the ball at his hip.

I saw Robert Douglas (was a linebacker this time last year, now he's the starting fullback) catch a pass in the end zone in pregame warmups, and I had a funny feeling about him. Sure enough, he made two HUGE catches, one just streaking down the middle on third and long and the other being the Priest-esque post catch move. He got hit, nearly fell, kept his balance, and managed to motor into the end zone.

Joe Doss had a 14-yard catch out of the backfield, and even though I saw it was #5 I thought he was DeAngelo.

We Ohio Stated it tonight, but goddamn, that's fine with me. There are no moral victories, and there are no moral losses -- just wins, of which we currently have three, and losses, of which we currently have none.

That moment of realization that we were really going to pull it off despite stinking the place up, with the band and the 10,000 or so Tiger fans that made the trip to Jonesboogie belting out and clapping along to an exhausted, loud, excited, relieved "Go Tigers Go"... that may have been an even higher moment than the New Orleans Bowl.

I'm not sure I'm even awake right now.

Whoa... Michigan only beat SD State by 3 in Ann Arbor? And they did it from behind?

Holy schnikes, TCU lost 70-33?! That game was 21-7 TCU when I left.

Huhuhuhuhuh. I said they "did it from behind."

Psoriasis, either you weren't awake, not actually at the game or you are just flat out lying to those on this message board that was not at the game tonight. I was at the game and I witnessed about half of those 10,000 fans that made the trip leave before we recovered the fumble and scored the go ahead touchdown with less than 2 minutes left on the clock. I am glad that I stayed for the finish. Leaving wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be before the game started. Those that did not get to see the game; missed one that will be be etched in my head forever.

I need to go to bed now. I am drunk and tired and have a football game to watch in about 9 hours. Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for you Psi, tomorrow I will respond to any double talking, contradicting, narrow-minded, unsupported, missing the mark, smelling like sh*t, slanderous, needing to see the light, babbling, foolish dumb_a*s ladies room garbage you may have posted on my thread while I was out of town this weekend.

Night all!

I wanted to spit on one guy who shook his head and said, "Same old Tigers," as he was making his way out. They could have lost to Arkansas State by 20, and they STILL wouldn't be the "Same old Tigers." It's a disservice to everything Tommy West, the staff, and the players have done to say something as stupid as that.

I wonder how many of them went home, kicked the dog in disgust, and went to bed pissed off because they thought the Tigers lost? ROFL

Psicosis, good job.

I am not a Memphis Tiger fan, but I like to see them win because I live here. My wife and I went because we were in Rector, AR at her family reunion then had to go to Jonesboro to visit her great aunt that is having heart surgery on Monday. We decided to stay for the game. I am glad your Tigers won especially the way they did. I thought it was great that they came back and won after so many fans gave up on them and left. My wife and I no matter how bad our teams are losing will never leave until it is over. For example, we went to Nashville last year to see her Fish play the Titans. The Fish got fried badly, there was no hope with almost an entire quarter left to play, but we stayed.

I have been meaning to ask, what is your relationship with Danton? We love Danton, Rach and Will and would do anything in the world for them.

Time for the Chiefs to kick some Carolina Pussycats!
