Yep I went to Patricios (sp) as a young kid regularly with the fam. but; I remember freaking out one specific night while I was out with my older sister when I was like 11 and she was 16 and her boyfried was smoking weed behind Patricios, that was serious when I was that young.

Funny stuff...

It seems that alot of people live near a mexican restuarant. Is it because they all run specials on Corona?

Yeah back in the day the all meat burrito from Patricio's was hard to beat. You could always count on there being some different folks in and outside of Patricio's. Actually it was one of the most interesting mixes of people you'd come across. Rich, poor, all there for the food. It was that good. I saw my first real "fight" when I was like 11 at the Gomer's across the street on the way home one night. An interesting part of town late in the evening.

bingo

and that's the "seal of approval" in my book...I'm on a life long quest for the best taco...2 small corn tortillas stacked, carne asada or lengua or barbacoa, some onion, some lime, some salsa verde...heaven...line 'em up

most towns even have taco trucks these days...Wichita did when I lived there....

The best mexican food I ever had was a restaurant located in a house near the IBP plant in Emporia, Kansas. Lots of great food for very little cash.

I don't have the link, but there is a blog by a guy who eats at and reviews taco shops in LA....

ive seen it. he reviewed one in south central LA by the USC campus i went to and it sucked. there was a long line (i went after an SC game), night time in a gang infested neighborhood, and i was under the impression the food was pretty good.

El Zarape in Garden City used to be pretty damn good for much the same reason (IBP plant 5 miles away). It's been some years since I ate there, I hear its not as good now.

I went to Margaritas last night and must say that it was average and still seems to use the same flavorless beef that everyone uses. Walking through the plumes of smoke to get to the dining area didn't exactly impress me either. Although watching the employees talk to the police outside was an added touch. Overall, I must give it a thumbs down.

You are scaring me now. I forgot about that place until now.

I bet we have ate at the same restaurants at the same time in KC more than once while in KC/Independence based on the favorite restaurant previous thread. I do move in 1991.

What are some of your favorite eating places in Atlanta. (all types)

I hear good things about the KC Pitt BBQ probably because I am from Kc and doubt the name.

I like Dustys on Briarcliff and Fatt Matts because I also like jazz.

There is also a great Ethiopian restaurant by target on North Druid Hill and Briarcliff.

My family loves Pappadeaux's when they come to town.
