As I've tried to explain to you repeatedly, it has nothing to do with not being guaranteed a starting job. It has to do with the unspoken truth (no matter what BS Carl blows up the media's ass) that he won't be on the Chiefs roster at the start of the season. He knows this. Carl knows this. Miami knows this. Herm knows this. It was made crystal clear earlier in the offseason, even if the official line was that they just wanted him to restructure. Even if the new official line is that they may want to pay him his full contract. The only people that are misguided enough to think that he'll actually be on the Chiefs roster are the fans that hold on to some hope that he'll be there for whatever reason. As such, them holding onto him is, yes, screwing the Dolphins and making the Chiefs look like hardasses that don't screw around when it comes to negotiating. But it's also screwing Trent in that he knows come regular season, he's going to be looking for a new team. As such, he's pissed and doing what he can to land himself in a good situation for the upcoming season. I'm sorry that he doesn't live up to your high minded ideas of what an NFL player should do or be, but he's looking out for himself and his family, because he doesn't want to be looking for a new team come August.

Trent Green has been a model citizen and a good Chief, who lead some exciting offenses in the past. I think his whining hurts his image and its unfortunate that things are shaking out this way.

Very true... Honestly living out of market, I dont see it, hear it and only read what is posted on the planet...

Sucks to see such a stellar legacy in KC be tarnished by this crap Trent and Carl are pulling.... We should be so lucky that anyone is offering any type of pick for a QB that is 37 and scrabbled...

Carl just needs to get this done. He, like Trent, is looking like a douche as well...

His problem is he was told told they were going away from him....then told he'd be traded by draft day and wasn't.........

If you were in his spot you'd be pissed off too........

It just blows my mind that some people really think he should just sit there and act like "golly gee I guess I shouldn't say or do anything" he's doing what anyone in his spot would do.......actually some guys would do alot worse.

Well I could think of 7 million reasons to be happy...

If the Chiefs cut him, we will be hosed with the cap space, plus I am sure someone will pick him up.. He only has 2 years left anyway...

then why isn't he mad at Miami? they refused to trade for him....sorry, but you give away players in the NFL....I don't care about his feelings...he gets paid millions for his feelings....

this is Miami's problem....until the offer something, Green is a chief...

Maybe he isn't thrilled with them but it makes little sense to say much when that team doesn't have the power to move you......

All of the moves he can realistically make to force hands are between him and the Chiefs.

he has no leverage with the Chiefs...

Chiefs will hold him till the last day possible - as they should - unless Miami decides to actually offer something fair and reasonable, as they should...

Trent's opinion on any of it is irrelevant...and no one on the team is losing any sleep over it....

Mecca 05-22-2007 09:30 PM

Well.......I don't think Trent's worth as much as Randy Moss is.......

I think some people are a little overzealous about what his worth really is......

Yikes! I forgot we still have nolearny as OC this year... CHIT! At least he can't call that wr screen 3 yards in the backfield to Hall 10 times a game.. :shake: Damn, now i'm depressed, Solari absolutely sucked.

A 6th-rounder and a swap of 3rds would have been VERY reasonable. Too bad Miami refused.

Randy Moss is an entirely different deal. He has a lot of baggage that Trent doesn't have.

Is that a trick question?

If the Chiefs cut him or trade him, the same cap penalty applies.
