I'm okay with the hire, but the team is on a short leash, IMO, including the head coach.

We're Chiefs fans. We don't get that lucky.

Furthermore, I don't think Stanzi ever had a chance this last season, it was predetermined that he was not going to play this year. (Billay, that is why he couldn't beat out Palko)

That little sample we saw in TC, Stanzi showed excellent pocket presence to me, which is Cassel's biggest weakness IMO.

Like Hamas said, this team is good enough, if the QB could just play.

It will depend a lot on who the third QB is. If Orton is re-signed, Stanzi probably won't see the field (again). I really can't see the Chiefs going into next season with Cassel, Stanzi and a drafted QB. I think Pioli will get an experienced (and blah) back up QB for Cassel and make Stanzi #3.

I at least hope to hear, "We'll play the best quarterback we have." or some shit like that because that would mean they don't trust Cassel anymore.

But if they do confirm Cassel is the starter, the raising money for a billboard idea wouldn't be too bad.

Orton isn't coming back to be the back up QB.

He isn't coming back to be in a QB competition.

If he's the guy then I'm behind him 100% in 2012.

But we need at least three more moves: relegate Cassel to back-up where he belongs, and resign Bowe/Carr.

Bring back a healthy Charles, Moeaki, and Berry, add a RT and a couple free agents on the D-Line and we're good to go!

Zorn as OC = **** everyone and everything about this franchise.

You have a strong team with powerful potential and you hand OC duties to Zorn.

If they re-sign Orton, Cassel will be the #2 and Stanzi will still be #3.

I don't think Orton will be back unless they cut Cassel (*snort*) and promise Orton the #1. At that point, the Chiefs still won't have an experienced #2, so will probably sign some McNown type BU (Kyle Boller :) ).

Hey man, RAC already has more signature wins than Haley did.

Matt Cassel - QB - Chiefs
SI's Peter King expects Matt Cassel to return to the Chiefs in 2012.

Cassel is owed $5.25 million in base salary in 2012. Before landing on injured reserve with a hand injury following Week 10, he was a below-average NFL quarterback. Cassel posted a 10:9 TD-to-INT ratio and averaged just 190.3 passing yards per game. After new coach Romeo Crennel finds an offensive coordinator, he should turn his attention to finding competition for Cassel.

Pretty much this.

If the Chiefs don't make the playoffs and win at least one playoff game next season, Romeo and Fat Scott should be fired.

Does Pioli ever leave his house to go anywhere but to work? Cause I don't see how he can walk around KC and not have 1000s of people telling him that Cassel sucks every day.

Jerm 01-09-2012 11:39 AM

I said I'd only be on board with this hire if Cassel was jettisoned and if we found a great OC to partner with Romeo...Zorn as OC is beyond an epic fail and if Cassel is coming back, **** this shit.
