During Vick's time in Atlanta, the Chargers & Falcons each made the playoffs twice. Zero Super Bowls. And to top it off, that 2nd round QB didn't prosper in San Diego so I'm unsure how that adds to the equation.

What exactly did they win?

Well I think they got the better player at a lower pick plus got additional picks

And what did that 'win' them? Both teams had 47 wins over the 2001-2006 period.

No one in their right mind thinks Mike Vick is a better player than LaDainian Tomlinson.

Failing to keep Drew Brees around and coach him to his full potential is distinct from recognizing that potential on draft day.

They got the better end of the trade. If you judge every move by winning a Super Bowl, there are very few good moves. What did drafting Derrick Thomas or Tony Gonzalez "win" us?

No one's disputing that.

Nothing. Therefore we didn't 'win' the draft.

Yep, they got the better end of the trade. They later screwed up by letting Brees go and going with Rivers

So the Jags are going to draft Geno in 2013 and Bridgewater in 2014?

That would be good for my Lions, and I'd be rooting for the Jags.
I would laugh at the Chiefs all year long.

Just draft him. God forbid that we're stacked at the quarterback position.

You don't win the superbowl with one draft pick. Judging an individual pick on the basis of team performance is idiotic. Two-time Super Bowl champion starter Antowain Smith was not a better RB than Barry Sanders.

I'd suggest you take a look at the 2003/2004 seasons and think again. The team that got the QB was in the NFC title game, the team that traded down picked #1 overall.
