If the AFC wants a Super Bowl win this century. They send Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Mahomes or the odd Flacco. Only one of those still plays

That's a little aggressive.

He played one hell of a game in the :13 game (even though Baker and Hughes did their best to help him).

This year, the whole Hamlin thing definitely affected them. Media pushed it as a motivating factor, but it was definitely a distraction IMO. They rolled in thinking they were going to win because they were supposed to, and the Hamlin business took a LOT of focus and emotional capital.

Plus, the Bengals were EPIC PISSED that the NFL hosed them. Add all that up and you get a ****ing ass BEATING in the divisional round.

There are a lot of corollaries to our team's experience. We thought they were going to win the Tampa Super Bowl, and the Britt Reid thing took (probably much less, but not none) focus and emotional capital.

Plus we were EPIC pissed off at the Burrowhead dogshit, and we put it on them even with all our injuries.

So ultimately, the **** punt they took from the Bengals isn't necessarily who they are. It may be, if they fold up like a cheap suit, but it isn't necessarily it.

Also don’t forget the Eric Fisher hold in 2016 that erased a 2 point conversion to tie the game, and the Mariota “forward progress” fumble in 2017

That one sucked, but Pitt would have gotten the ball back with about 2:45 left only needing a FG to win it. I definitely wanted the opportunity to stop them, but our D had been doing the bend and don’t break thing the whole day and I don’t know if we would have kept them from at least getting a FG try at the end.

The forward progress penalty sucked and we should have gotten a defensive score there which would have put us 21-0. If Tenn gets 3 before half, the score would have still ended up being 21-3 at half.

Those teams were always so hard to keep healthy into the playoffs and their runs were dependent on our defenses staying 100% off the IR.

DJ's absence in that game made such a huge impact in our inability to stop Bell. Just like Houston's absence did against Brady in the year previous, and Berry's absence did the following year.

Chris Jones being absent in the 2019 divisional match would have previously spelled a similar doom for KC. Or half the offense getting injured in the 2022 AFCCG (like the 2013 playoffs).

I never go back and watch the playoff games that we lost, but I don’t remember us forcing the Steelers to punt. I think we got a pick in the end zone and of course the 6 FG’s. I forgot that game was also the year that DJ went out with the Achilles right at the end of the season.

This whole Bills injury argument is asinine. We dealt with injuries as did many teams. If anything Buffalo has been EXTREMELY lucky Allen has yet to get hurt. Next year could easily be the season he is injured running like he’s Derrick Henry and taking constant blows. Just ask Cam Newton how 4-5 seasons of that worked out for him.

What makes you think they will acknowledge it if he has a down year?

Well, in that thread at least they actually do. Bengals fans are having more trouble but they will come around.

They’re not a particularly poor run organization, they just don’t have Veaches ability to make baller moves.

They're just snakebitten in making draft trades that enable other teams to get generational players. They will have to forever hear about trading away Jefferson and Mahomes.

I'm looking forward to them dealing with the cap issues on Burrow & Chase. I wish the Cardinals were not so dumb. They hired the Philly DC, but they should have hired the Cincy DC. So Cincy dodged that bullet, unfortunately.

Their defense will look a bit different next year. We’ll see how he does without the continuity for the first time.

I wish Mike Brown would start doing Mike Brown things.

In retrospect, pairing Mahomes with JJ WOULD have been a way better combo than Allen/Diggs.

Hilarious thread thanks OP.

My favorite quote was, “Chiefs are a plug and play team. They ain’t going anywhere.”

scho63 02-19-2023 04:12 PM

After reading that thread, is it any wonder they throw dildos on the field and jump off of roofs onto tables to break them?
