I didn't personally share music in college because "**** evil corporations", I did it because the industry was painfully slow to adjust from buying entire albums. Once I was able to buy a 99 cent song and the later use services like Pandora and Spotify, I did that instead.

I also don’t stream sports because I want to stick it to the NFL (however, also **** the NFL)... leagues still have ridiculously outdated blackout rules and on top of that, the solution to jacked up costs of cable was streaming services. Great! Oh, but now we'll force you to use 5 different streaming services and you still have to abide by our reerunedly outdated blackout policies... oh, and ESPN or other channels might just go away because contracts are up and **** the consumer.

I used to pay $90/month for tons of sports channels and loved it... but, now that I'm out of state and need Prime one weekend and YouTubeTV the next and Peacock the next.... yeah, I'll stream sometimes.

They can't have it both ways... either they work WITH consumers to make it easy to watch their stuff, or of course people will get pissed if they constantly feel ****ed over.

The NFL wants it both ways... "**** you, you're going to follow all these rules and pay all this money and will still be blacked out sometimes"... oh, why are you mad?

I WANT to give them money to watch every Chiefs game live.. **** them for jumping through so many hoops to make that possible.

This is probably where I align the most.

Give me a SINGLE service, NOT MULTIPLE, where I can watch all my Chiefs games and I will pay it, no questions asked.

But of course, this isn't possible because its divided among multiple different providers who pay big bucks for those exclusive rights.

And before you say it, no, I will NOT buy cable. I do not watch TV for anything these days, all of those extra channels are entirely wasted on me. I'm only here for Football, thats it. I will not overpay for all these extra channels that I will not use, and likely STILL does not have access to all the games id like to watch.

There is not an easy solution, its mind numbing and infuriating going through the process of figuring out what services I need to pay for to watch the Chiefs. And I'm just not going to do it until there is one.

Same thing with NFL streaming, if I’m going to ****ing pay for a service and you’re still going to advertise shit to me without paying me to watch….

Also last time I checked the NFL received tax payer money.

Long rant don’t read

Yeah, games being 50% commercials on top of paying for all the services is reeruned... the NHL now has digital ads along the boards, took away playoff logos for more ads, now have ads on helmets, have added commercial breaks to OT and have extended the game by 10+ minutes in recent years with extra commercial breaks. All with worse blackout rules than the NFL (ESPN+ is a great value for out of towners though).

They should have just given people an option to add the Sunday ticket to their existing service, whether it’s Directv, AT&T tv, Comcast or whatever. If I’m only going to be allowed to stream NFL games on my phone, then there’s no way I’m going to pay for an extra streaming service when I’m only going to be watching Chiefs games. Hell, half of them are on prime time anyways so it’s only about 24-30 hours of content I’d be getting.

I looked at DirecTV when I moved to Arizona, but it specifically said "2 year contract required, but price is only guaranteed for one year".... what in the living **** is that?!? "We can rape you on price in the 2nd year!"

So, I went with Dish and routinely had channels missing due to contract issues (ESPN got the ax the weekend after I canceled LMAO), including using my parent's YT for an entire season whenever I wanted to watch SNF.... I mean, I'm willingly paying you for a service and you can't even provide the channels I want to watch? Of course I'm going to stream. I'm not buying an additional service and hoping I get to watch all the channels I signed up for on that one. :cuss:

Video game prices seem pretty reasonable to me, honestly. Or at least they're right in line with historical inflation-adjusted prices over the past couple of decades. The costs to manufacture and distribute physical discs are minimal compared to development costs, so the fact that they're digital doesn't really matter.

It's the same with sharing accounts outside of your immediate family for Netflix, Prime, etc..

Maybe Netflix, YouTube, etc. can create more flexible/customizable streaming packages to mitigate the incentive to “illegally” stream/password share.

For example, I finally gave in and purchased a Netflix subscription to watch Quarterback.

As I suspected, there is nothing else on Netflix worth watching. It’s a piece of shit service with garbage content.

Give customers the option to purchase individual shows… the pay per view model… rather than having to purchase a full subscription.

Also YouTube with NFL Sunday Ticket… I am paying $400+ for an entire season to watch out of market Chiefs games, when there is a high likelihood I’ll only need it for one or two games since the Chiefs will be on national TV frequently.

Let customers purchase individual games rather than having to pay for an entire season.

People always say that (it was the same argument for breaking up cable subscriptions in favor of being able to purchase individual channels). Then it happened, and people were surprised that a CBS or NBC subscription was $5-$10.

It'd be the same deal if they sold individual games. They'd probably charge $40-$50 per game if they did it that way, and everyone would gripe that the price is too high.

That's why subscriptions work - you get generous per-unit pricing in exchange for an ongoing commitment.

Isn't Netflix a monthly/no commitment sign up for like $6 or $15 depending on ads?

If you have to sign up an entire year for one show, yeah that would suck... but one or two bucks per episode seems reasonable for a one month subscription.

The NFL is mostly garbage, so I'd love a team option like the NHL used to do, get all the Chiefs games for a reasonable rate.

Yeah, I personally like the $5-10/per, but then you take sports and divide it up for the sole purpose of adding people to each platform... definitely a "feature" of un-bubdling that's really unfortunate for sports fans and those who don't watch sports but will have Prime $$ increase anyway.

I should be able to steal it.

You still haven't answered why you think it's OK for your outlaw family to steal from DirecTV. They should be in jail.

239 million paid subscribers says your opinion of their content is an outlier.

I have the MLB package for only the STL Cardinals. Had it for several years. $99 a year. 162 games.

Everything costs more. Everything.

It sucks. It's like we are in a giant focus group to be price gouged by every single company there is.
