Just got around recently. Facebook is going crazy with ****faces saying Geno is dogshit. Going on here too? I mean, you obviously have to judge your QBOTF on one game, and only one game. His last game. In the snow, and wind against a team he's consistently struggled with.

Chiefs need Luke Juckel though cuz Stanzi and Cousins are the same player.

He's still 14/22 with a few drops, 185 yds, 2td/0ints against a pretty solid defense.

Additionally, Horgleson has gone full Daboll today in neglecting his best weapon (Geno)

Reaper16 12-29-2012 05:39 PM

Since the most recent bowl game take primacy over any other game in a player's career, it is comforting to know that people here won't be in favor of drafting Manti Te'o after Alabama pushes his shit in.

Right?

BigMeatballDave 12-29-2012 05:39 PM

Right. We should just trade down though because nobody is of "good value".
Because with ALL of these players that aren't worth the "Value"... there are going to be a ton of teams interested in trading up.

They picked up 57 yards on a screen pass. He hasn't had a great day, but I don't blame Geno for that. There's a lot going on there today. Weather, dumb****ery, and a defensive coordinator that is good at handling said dumb****ery.

Is the Te'o thing the most blown up shit ever. Are there seriously any teams that would even pretend to draft a MLB in the first 5ish picks. I doubt it. He feels like a Demeco Ryans level player. Great addition to the team but no way I use a top 10ish pick on him.

Just wait for the combine. If you want the fans and media to jump on the Smith wagon, you better hope he has an outstanding combine. If Smith flops at the combine it'll be 10x worse.

Make no mistake he didn't have a great game, he fumbled and held on to the ball too long a couple of times but most of the blame lays elsewhere.

QBs very rarely slide once the season is over unless they get busted for drugs or something.

Syracuse has done an EXCELLENT JOB in downfield coverage today. Part of the reason he was going through so many progressions is because Syracuse was taking away the deep game.

We're you watching the game on mute by chance? Jesse Palmer talked about it quite a bit.

Geno will be playing from behind and in shitty weather it's going to be tough to get the big pass plays to work.

Hopefully WV gets its running game working to help geno out a bit.

Here was my pre-game take.
With the conditions on the field today, it was not very hard for Syracuse to gameplan. The snow will counteract a downfield passing attack very quick.

It went as high as it did long. Admittedly I haven't seen much, I know one game and the weather, but the couple 10 yard outs I saw tells me he doesn't have a very strong arm. Has Geno and WV thrown this many WR screens all year? The one pass over 30 yards in the air was 30 yards high too, I'm concerned with many of your opinions now.

I'm pretty ****ing pissed they didn't execute 1 smash concept IIRC. I thought Austin/Bailey in the lot running a corner would absolutely rape, especially given that SY doesn't like to blitz on 1st down.

Perhaps they'll be happy when we pick Manti Te'o in the first then Ryan Nassib or Landry Jones in the second.

Because Nassib, who is a top five QB in most "experts" eyes had such a stellar game in the snow and wind.

I don't expect flawless, but as much Geno dick sucking that's been going on at CP I'd expect this qb to throw the out better, and not throw a hissy fit all second half. Seriously I though it was Phillip rivers out there pouting and stomping his feet.

But I'm an asshole like that. :D

milkman 12-29-2012 05:59 PM

I'd like someone to go back through the years and point out all the great games that QBs have played in the snow and wind.

They are very few and far between.

This is why teams that play in the elements try to build a team that can run the ball, and why teams that play in fair weather cities or in domes feel the need to win homefield advantage in the playoffs more than teams that play in the elements.

MahiMike 12-29-2012 05:59 PM

The biggest knock on Geno isn't his questionable arm strength but his tendency to go full Cutler with his whining. Every game I've watched him, after a bad play he seems to be crying and unable to forget that bad play. The mental aspect of a QB is extremely important. Their demeanor should be that of a pro golfer. Don't let the other team see you sweat. He can't do that. I think this alone will make it difficult for him to succeed in the NFL.
