hmm, well when we signed him there was a phantom injury as well. This guy is a douchy mystery

Sence Dorsey has done something everyday so far. Im guessing Cassell is next and that will be tommorrow.

A derivative of Giantism, I'm assuming. Gee, he could have been foreshadowing when he said, "I've already kinda come to the understanding that I won't live as long because I play this game."

BUT THAT'S OK! It's just a choice he's made.

Yep and Albert only allowed 1.

Remember to most of the fan base they thought the o line sucked.

And some people want us to get rid of Albert and draft Joeckel.

Why would we draft Joeckel.

If anything it would be Fisher.

RT are athletic and Fisher is just that.

Geno is one of them.

i'll give you 8:1 odds then, you in?

i think a trade down is still quite likely although this move does open the other tackle spot

I expect the RT to either be in free agency or Donald Stephenson.

well, i'd bet a trade down, AR trades down all the time, nearly every year

AND, AR loves to build up draft picks for future years, my bet is a trade down to around the 10-15 spot and then get some picks in the middle rounds, mix of this and next year

penbrook 03-07-2013 01:57 AM

Remember when we were trying to emulate the patrot way.

Now we are actually doing it the Chiefs way.

Hell if were gonna trade down that low why not trade revis and the #9 pick to us for the #1 pick.

However with his salary IDK.

You could get Sean Smith and Dashon Goldson for that price.

there are probably a gazzilion options, just have to get another team to reach a bit

if not, then grab that OT and then there are two bookends who setup the line for the next 6 years

Im really hoping B Albert signs long term andxwe trade back and grab Lane Johnson to play RT if Stephenson is not the answer.

booger 03-07-2013 02:38 AM

Ebon Britton is a FA and his old coach Andy Heck is now the OL coach here.
Sure doesn't look like he could stay healthy though.

Also Jeff Allen played on a strong side/weak side OL where they flipped their tackles depending on the play. His hand placement to play either side shouldn't be an issue. It woulld also make him an ideal 3rd game day tackle to back up both sides should stevenson win the job

New World Order 03-07-2013 02:42 AM

No one is moving up to the 1 spot via trade, there is nothing to trade for in this draft.

Right tackles are not #1 overall worthy. Alberts not moving to the right side. In house, free agent, or later round solution. No way first pick.

:thumb: The tape doesn't lie and he was probably asked to restructure and he said "F U" and now he is on the streets.

Same will happen with Dumervil from Denver if he doesn't restructure;)

wazu 03-07-2013 07:09 AM

I think this has to be a personal thing for the Chiefs. Maybe Hunt was just that pissed off that Winston went after the fans to the media, or maybe they just want to vanquish the bad blood and felt he wasn't good enough to be worth the bad PR.

Running off 2 good OT?

We franchised the good one and cut the one that had a shit season.

Funny how all season long Winston underperforms and acts like a clown and this place kills him.

Now he is a good RT again because the CP experts didnt expect him to be cut.

Just wow.

ceebz 03-07-2013 07:16 AM

So, are there still people who doubt that Alex ****ing Smith is going to be the QB long term in KC?

Personally, I'm not terribly surprised by this move; Winston was flat out awful last year in pass protection.

Bingo ! Or atleast that seems like a possible scenario for Winston if he want to remain in the NFL a few more years, because just like a CB who's not as athletic as he gets older but finds a home at safety, Winston has always been a solid rush-blocker but only average at best when it comes to playing OT and handling the edge-rushers. That's basically what the Texans already realized last year when they released him.

IF this were to be true, I have to wonder where the benefit would be. Why manufacture a need on a team with other roster holes.

Albert will walk if this is the case, because he'll want LT money. If he signs his FT, we'll be paying a RT $10 mil + right?

Brett Kollman, he "works on The Path to the Draft" and apparently knew they were dumping Winston.

Take it for what it's worth, which may be nothing.

IF this is what the Chiefs were doing, I don't get it. This is why I think it's BS. Move Albert a guy you just franchised to RT, piss him off, draft an unproven rookie to take his place? Zero sense.

Albert is a LT, and a pretty damn good one. Pay him his money, IMO.

Dorsey said Albert is the starting LT. He said nothing to indicate Brandon Albert would be moved from LT. This is just to keep Brandon Albert from becomming a FA that is what the franchise tag was used for imo not to make anything else about it.

With Branden Albert still on the team, I'll say this is unlikely.

The Chiefs will probably draft a tackle 1st overall, and that draftee will play RT for his rookie year.

At the same time, even if they didn't, Stephenson would be fine at RT.

Now, if Albert is dealt, that creates a hole at one tackle position (guaranteeing the other one will be filled by the 1st overall pick), and in that scenario I see Allen's chances at RT improving.

Well if you want your road grader RT, he's your guy. He's huge. Not sure how athletic he is from what I remember at OU. Can't say I've kept tabs on him in Minn.

I do like that he's play RT his whole career. I think Albert used (or still does) say that switching from LT to RT and back and forth isn't as easy as some people like to believe.

Direckshun 03-07-2013 07:59 AM

You're thinking about Damion McIntosh.

Herm brought him in to play LT, then drafted Albert and put McIntosh at RT.

McIntosh bitched about it all year, including to the media.

Ah okay thanks.

Anyways, I've always wondered if you're practiced your drops to say the left then asked to do it to the right if it's hard or not.

or.... maybe McIntosh was just whining about it and it was his deal.
