I am superstitious and missed the very beginning of the game - Therefore, I was turning back and forth to the game just in time to see Judge hit the home run and make it 8-0.

So, I am not sure, if I should turn away again and turn back later. :D

penbrook, are you a Yankees fan? I remember that one of the members at CP roots for the team.

Yeah, we still keep in touch pretty regularly via text/phone calls. I actually gave him his first baseball glove. An old catcher's mitt of mine when he was about 5 years old. Pretty proud of that dude. He can hit the shit out of a baseball.

That's really cool. I think it's neat when anybody has someone they even kind of know have a pro shot, let alone a family member. My best friend growing up had a kid brother that went on to be a top 5 pick(at the time and maybe still the highest pick out of the state of Hawaii ever). Unfortunately he blew out his arm after a few appearances but I got to see him pitch on TV one day against Mike Piazza. It was such a trip watching this kid I used to give noogies to pitch in the Show against a future HOF. Was bummed he got hurt but that $5 million signing bonus though!

That's really cool. Michael is one of my favorite prospects (and when we were talking about potential Royals trades to the Sox, was the centerpiece of deals that I thought were possible).

With Devers looking like a future star at 3B, he may end up playing a different position (how's he like 1B) or with another team, but his future looks really bright.

Two reviews. Same "play".

Appealed to second. Inning over.

Jerok 10-17-2017 04:48 PM

Hahaha, after hitting into the double play, Yankees player was walking into the dugout with camera on him and yelled 'F--K!' while Joe Buck was Joe Bucking.

ping2000 10-17-2017 05:39 PM

I can't believe I'm saying this but I would rather listen to Joe Buck than John Sterling. "Here comes the judge!" "All rise for the judge!" ****ing lame and annoying.

MahiMike 10-17-2017 05:44 PM

Seems like none of these teams hustle like our Royals. That's the 2nd play in the outfield where the player just watched it bounce. I've seen high schoolers with more hustle than that.

ping2000 10-17-2017 06:07 PM

Another reason to hate the Yankees, Spike Lee.

lewdog 10-17-2017 06:08 PM

Can anyone here actually testify to meeting a New Yorker and actually liking them?

penbrook 10-17-2017 06:12 PM

Come on Yanks! I’m a Royals fan but the Yanks as a team I like because their bullpen resembled ours

KCUnited 10-17-2017 06:18 PM

Houston folding in the 8th.

penbrook 10-17-2017 06:19 PM

Judge!!

Sassy Squatch 10-17-2017 06:20 PM

Oh. That makes a bit more sense why he just kind of stood there.

No. Only slightly less annoying than Boston fans. Official list:
1. Chowderheads
2. Rude ass floppy greasy pizza eating New Yorkers
3. Towel waving perogi eating Squeelers
4. Hairy back cheese steak eaters
5. Cess pool ex con fan base with a shit hole stadium where the toilets back up Chokeland
6. Hippie freak dope smoking John Denver loving Pam spraying dumbass "IN - COM - PLETE" is our only cheer dicks
7. Town burning STD leading crack whore our most famous player should be in jail for murder Edgar Allen Poes

All others are so lame and boring they don't even get a mention.

penbrook 10-17-2017 06:23 PM

Astros imploding in the 8th! Ahh brings back memories. I love it!

lewdog 10-17-2017 06:25 PM

I hope somewhere Rudy is ending his life.

He's the only reason I kind of would like the Yankees to win.

MahiMike 10-17-2017 06:25 PM

How did the Astros get this far? They can't pitch and they have no outfield.

penbrook 10-17-2017 06:28 PM

This is a Yankee team I actually enjoy watching.

Dylan 10-17-2017 06:55 PM

Wow what a game!

What a comeback!

Huston's bullpen is not very good (so far).

On a side note: Why would you hate a New Yorker? :(

jd1020 10-17-2017 08:53 PM

Cant wait to see Mallee finally fired after the series.

Well maybe not. They're going to let Darvish bat with the bases loaded and two outs. You get a hit here and you could blow the game open and put the Cubs in a deep hole. Interesting call.

Yeah, last time I talked to him he mentioned that the club was looking at working him at 1B in the fall league. The kid just loves to play, and he's super versatile...I honestly think he doesn't care where he plays, so long as he's playing.

Coach 10-17-2017 10:35 PM

Things just got a little interesting at Wrigley. Cubs on 3rd and 2nd, nobody out, Bottom of the 9th.

Scratch that, one away.

jd1020 10-17-2017 10:40 PM

Tying run still in the hole and Happ goes up there trying to hit the first pitch 500 feet.

Please let it be that Mallee only has one more loss on his contract.

Which is why I cant wait til they actually get a legit hitting coach. Not some bum that was ****ing awful at it in the minors and was fired by the Astros before they actually started hitting.

Yankees have an "it" factor I haven't seen them have since the dynasty era. Not they are such because that is an insult to the late 90's team. Built from a core of home-grown players with a lot of trades made.

It's also a lot more fun rooting for a team like this vs. the 2009 team that I, even as a Yankees fan, don't like. Baseball is in a better state now, even if teams like the Yankees, Sox, and Dodgers still have unfair advantages relative to other teams. At least other teams have a chance to win if they build the right way.

Just nice to see them emotional and not being the business-like Yankees getting beat by the team that wants it more. Game 6 is gonna be intense.

There's no realistic way to tie it to one extra pitch but if the Dodgers tie or take the lead this inning, we could see an on the field fan riot

Threw 48 flipping pitches. That's after throwing a million pitches in game 5 last week. They're basically going to burn him out for nothing. I get it's the playoffs, but it's making Trey Hillman look soft. I just can't imagine this kind of strategy is sustainable.

They aren't going to re-sign him so its the same situation as last year with Chapman.
