More like Manny Aybar.

I'm not ready to give up on the guy just yet. He is too young with too much ability. I'm more worried that he breaks down physically than not being able to get major league hitters out consistently on a regular basis.

Why did he fall all the way down to us? Did MLB feel change up/fastball wasn't enough?
Those balls hit in the first inning with a man on second were hit hard and straight at Jay. Not a chance to throw anyone out. I could probably beat his noodle arm.:rolleyes:

He wasn't all that dominant in college. Certainly good, but not a killer. In fact, it was seen as kind of a "meh" draft pick, polished and a quick riser, but a guy that had middle of the rotation upside.

Scouting reports note that Wacha's fastball sits in the 92-94 mph range, with potential for improvement. Baseball America listed Wacha as the 11th-best pitcher available in the Draft.



Obviously his fastball got a lot better a lot faster than expected.

IIRC, he was a 2 pitch guy, FB above average, but an outstanding change-up; breaking ball has been slow, but he's shown improvement.

Your catching us at a good time. We have lost 5 of the last 7 at home.

Year in, year out, all a pitcher needs to do is be left handed to shut this team down.

Mabry and company need fired. This offense is abysmal.

They went through one of these stretches last year, too. They lost like 8 straight or something like that. Despite the manager, the talent is good enough to bounce back.
