I’ve never seen someone live in someone’s head rent free like Alex Smith does to Clay. It’s crazy.
Also, Alex was a top 10 paid QB 1 time in 2015 but it wasn’t a big deal since he was making penning the year before. He was an average QB and paid as such. |

Who gives about appearances when there was zero progression? They followed up the second worst blown league ever by missing the playoffs entirely. Then, they followed up the supposed monkey-off-the-point turning point with a postseason win sealed up with the opening kickoff with three straight playoff losses -the last two of which were at Arrowhead. Blame defense, blame drops, blame injuries... whatever. The common thread through all of this wonderful playoff success was Kansas City's fortunes were determined by who had the better QB on paper. Surprise surprise, they lost each and every time they didn't have the superior QB compared to their opponent. |
Smith was a conservative QB, who needed a strong running game and defense to win ball games. He did his part for the most part by keeping his teams in positions to win by not losing the TO battle. He took care of the ball, which was huge let's not pretend that had a lot to do w/ the good record he had while he was here.
BUT... If the defense wasn't creating TO's or weren't keeping teams out of the endzone and if he ever had to get into a track meet w/ an opponent he usually came up on the losing end (when his team allowed 24+ ppg). He's not the QB that can get you past the good teams in this league, and we all saw that. We all saw the offense go into stall fetal position mode too many times w/ Smith. At least w/ Mahomes, we'll know that hell throw past the chains and extend plays. With Mahomes, the range of field to cover just got a lot bigger for opposing defenses. |

Instead of locking up Smith after 2013, they could have instead locked up Justin Houston and saved a good dose of money from extending him after his awesome 2014. If there's anything our easily satisfied, low expectation fanbase has proven, it's that people will flock out for a team that scrapes into the playoffs and has no shot at playoff success. Quote:
Yay, he protected the football and didn't get hurt. Whoop de ****ing do. Quote:
Shit, one of them was on the roster (Daniel). Smith didn't do anything you wouldn't expect a good backup QB to pull off. Carson Palmer would have been a better option. Quote:

It could have worked out better in not completely wasting five years of time. The Chiefs are in good shape now, but could be in even better shape had one of those second-round picks been turned into a good young player. Maybe it's a LB. Maybe it's a pass rusher. I don't care. But give me some pairing of Palmer/Daniel/Moore/etc with those two picks instead of Alex Smith, as well as the saved salary from 2014+, and I'm certain I come out no worse and possibly better. |
New Directive:
Practitioners of 'Smith Apologetics' are to be absolutely ****ing crucified for being too goddamned stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time. Maybe you idiotic ****s are okay with losing yet ANOTHER half decade of time, Maybe you feel that being better than bad is good, Maybe you just wish to be a contrarian. None of these are justifiable. And using that ****head's tenure as a Chief to justify the Mahomes/draft timeline should get you kicked squarely in the vagina, so absolutely stupid a "point of view" it is. If you meet the above criteria, kindly cease breathing the Earth's valuable oxygen. And, **** yourself, and **** yourself, and **** yourself again! Idiot. |

Why are Welcher and his fluffers still obsessed with the Redskins’ QB?
