I’ve never seen someone live in someone’s head rent free like Alex Smith does to Clay. It’s crazy.

Also, Alex was a top 10 paid QB 1 time in 2015 but it wasn’t a big deal since he was making penning the year before. He was an average QB and paid as such.

No. Wrong. Incorrect. Factually inaccurate.

Smith's QB rating from 2013-2016 was 92.2.

That would have ranked 17th in 2015.

His YPA was 7.0.

That would have ranked 25th in 2015.

Backup level play.

Blow me.

LMAO at your bullshit. GTFO

As for Mahomes, i would be shocked if a good QB ever came out of that school. The best TTU QB of all time (in NFL terms) is Billy Joe ****ing Tolliver.

One thing about Kizer: I think Notre Dame was so much of a shitshow, overrated program that he could have some untapped potential in a more stable environment. I like his talent the most out of all these guys.

The QB Whisperer has innate knowledge that can't be taught or learned.

Yeah, we have not done shit in the playoffs, got it. That does not equal a over paid QB. In fact Alex has been decent in play off games.

He was not over paid.

Five total playoff games in five years. One win.

Who gives about appearances when there was zero progression?

They followed up the second worst blown league ever by missing the playoffs entirely.

Then, they followed up the supposed monkey-off-the-point turning point with a postseason win sealed up with the opening kickoff with three straight playoff losses -the last two of which were at Arrowhead.

Blame defense, blame drops, blame injuries... whatever. The common thread through all of this wonderful playoff success was Kansas City's fortunes were determined by who had the better QB on paper.

Surprise surprise, they lost each and every time they didn't have the superior QB compared to their opponent.

CoMoChief 02-12-2018 08:53 PM

Smith was a conservative QB, who needed a strong running game and defense to win ball games. He did his part for the most part by keeping his teams in positions to win by not losing the TO battle. He took care of the ball, which was huge let's not pretend that had a lot to do w/ the good record he had while he was here.

BUT...

If the defense wasn't creating TO's or weren't keeping teams out of the endzone and if he ever had to get into a track meet w/ an opponent he usually came up on the losing end (when his team allowed 24+ ppg). He's not the QB that can get you past the good teams in this league, and we all saw that. We all saw the offense go into stall fetal position mode too many times w/ Smith. At least w/ Mahomes, we'll know that hell throw past the chains and extend plays. With Mahomes, the range of field to cover just got a lot bigger for opposing defenses.

It was the DeBerg/Krieg/Bono bullshit all over again, only this time we paid big money to the QB and traded two second round picks for him.

Total ****ing waste of time and energy for all parties involved.

Shit was ****ing dire the last 2 or so years of the Pioli era.

They could have accomplished that with a lot of dudes, less expensive dudes. The team Andy Reid inherited was very talented, just needed competent coaching and organization and a non-fuqstiq QB who was being forced on the coach.

Instead of locking up Smith after 2013, they could have instead locked up Justin Houston and saved a good dose of money from extending him after his awesome 2014.

If there's anything our easily satisfied, low expectation fanbase has proven, it's that people will flock out for a team that scrapes into the playoffs and has no shot at playoff success.

Dude, good luck finding a QB that will suit up and be healthy for almost five years. Seriously. It's like you all forgot about the Haurd, Thigpen, Croyel, Brady Quinn, Orton, Cassel shit show years.

Just because those guys were garbage doesn't mean I'm going to be satisfied with a guy who steadily lived between "average" NFL starter and "bottom third" NFL starter.

Yay, he protected the football and didn't get hurt. Whoop de ****ing do.

I think you could have found a lot of guys who would have given KC 80-90 percent of what Alex Smith did for most of his tenure.

Shit, one of them was on the roster (Daniel). Smith didn't do anything you wouldn't expect a good backup QB to pull off.

Carson Palmer would have been a better option.

My point with the "luck" factor is ... even finding a willing partner who would make the trade is a stroke of luck. Good evaluation, but the cookie had to crumble just right for KC to make that trade.

It could have worked out better in not completely wasting five years of time.

The Chiefs are in good shape now, but could be in even better shape had one of those second-round picks been turned into a good young player. Maybe it's a LB. Maybe it's a pass rusher. I don't care.

But give me some pairing of Palmer/Daniel/Moore/etc with those two picks instead of Alex Smith, as well as the saved salary from 2014+, and I'm certain I come out no worse and possibly better.

New Directive:

Practitioners of 'Smith Apologetics' are to be absolutely ****ing crucified for being too goddamned stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Maybe you idiotic ****s are okay with losing yet ANOTHER half decade of time,
Maybe you feel that being better than bad is good,
Maybe you just wish to be a contrarian.
None of these are justifiable.
And using that ****head's tenure as a Chief to justify the Mahomes/draft timeline should get you kicked squarely in the vagina, so absolutely stupid a "point of view" it is.

If you meet the above criteria, kindly cease breathing the Earth's valuable oxygen.
And, **** yourself,
and **** yourself,
and **** yourself again!

Idiot.

Being a master of Smith-destroying prose is a taxing affair to say the least, but I will continue to do my part until we "Silkwood shower" these pathetic ****ers right.

Down.
