Removed from consideration by one team for makeup issues. Another team expressed serious reservations. “Kind of a f-----,” said a fourth scout. “His (issues) are more football character. He has a complete bullshit sense of urgency, like a total finesse player. Mental is an issue. Lacks power, struggles to anchor. Fundamentals are poor. Plays like a guy that was at a JUCO and just came here. Now, he is a natural athlete and a knee bender. He’s got quickness, balance and body control, real light on his feet. He can pull and get to the second level. I did see the athletic positives but the whole football player I wasn’t crazy about.”

"Kind of a f-----"

I'm going to need the missing letters filled in because there are multiple options that mean very different things.

Kind of a "Flawless"?
Kind of a "Fantastic"?
Kind of a "Favorite"?
Kind of a "Fantabulous"?

These reports are what lead a team like the Patriots to draft Will Campbell because he says "sir" a lot.

It's dumb.

Hopefully playing for the best team in the NFL
with a huge financial carrot dangling right in front of him will solve the Issue

coming back from that injury prob made him grumpy

"His size might profile as a slot receiver..."

What in the ****ing **** are we even doing anymore?

6'0" 205 lbs is a SLOT receiver now? Dude's built like Jeremy Maclin. Almost EXACTLY like Jeremy Maclin.

These friggen dunces still jerk themselves off over these 6'4" long-striders that turn like tanker trucks and consign anyone that's shorter than 6'2" to the 'slot receiver' bin.

GTFOH here with that nonsense.

That's just stupid beyond words.

At the same time, if you're Philly, is it a bluff you're willing to call?

You have a SB roster -- you don't have a TON of spots open. You also had EIGHT picks in rounds 5 and 6. You don't need that many 3rd day picks.

If all you're doing is giving up one of those 8 picks to just remove the risk of losing your guy, why wouldn't you?

I don't think that's surprising at all and for the Eagles I think it's every bit the no-brainer it was for the Chiefs.

Now the most interesting component is really the flip from 168 to 164. It's possible that being 4 spots higher helped us get that deal done with Pittsburgh for only one additional 7th. We had to use our 'top' 7th rounder to get there; the Carolina 7th. And we didn't have a 6th. So if we're at 168 instead of 164, maybe we have to chip in an additional 7th (which might cost us Brashard Smith) or maybe we can't get it done at all.

And the Eagles took Mondon at 161. Maybe they take Bassa instead with that pick if we can't get just a little more from Howie and are stuck at 168.

Just an interesting demonstration that sometimes every little concession matters.

There's an "Inside the Draft Room" video on the Eagles YouTube page - they called every team from 20 down because they wanted Campbell.

Teams were either unwilling to move, or moved for WAY more than Philly was willing to give up. (looking at you, Atlanta)

If I'm Roseman, once Connerly comes off the board, he probably figures KC is going to start getting calls.

To give up a 5th to GUARANTEE you get your guy?

Peanuts.

That stuff was out there before the draft. I call some bullshit on it.

He doesn’t like to practice and isn’t passionate about run-blocking? Sounds an awful lot like a lot of good LT. Like Laremy Tunsil.

I think there's probably some truth to it if you're talking about a power or counter scheme.

He looked like a guy who definitely preferred to get out in space rather than hammer the teeth of a defense and look for contact.

But I don't think that's necessarily unique to him, nor is it a deal breaker.

Was thinking the same thing. I guess we're just so afraid of even thinking a curse word in our own heads we can't accurately quote someone.

That would make the most sense, but to me for it to be ****-up you gotta have the dash or at least a space in there, which means we need another dash in the edited out version. "****er" would fit, but it doesn't really tell me anything.

It's probably best if we just assume the source was a raging homophobe.
