Well it will save him 8k in credits. I think he still needs to spend 40k for the skill to ride.

Also at level 40 you get to have a new skill for speeders which allows you some newer select models on Quesh. Unfortunately, this skill cost 200k.

I am taking a small break from Space Slug due to the long queue times and having no one actually up on the higher end planets yet. When you go to Hoth or Balmorra and there are only 8 people on planet you can't get a group together to do the Heroic 4 quests. There are about 6 quests on Balmorra I am missing which would put me at the correct level for Balsavioous or whatever planet it is.

Also figure some Double EXP might help me out so I logged off in my ship.

I went and created a sith warrior on a light population server named "Master Gnost Dural" See you all in game.

Ya, I have no idea how you level up so fast. I'm still at level 13, LOL!

And yeah, you also get a better speeder at 50, I think. I think the speed increase goes 50% at 25, 75% at 40 and 100% at 50. I could be wrong, though.

Anyone who has played WoW has probably visited www.wowhead.com at one point or another. Wowhead is a database of every single weapon, armor, item, mob, NPC, quest, quest-item, quest-reward, quest-giver, recipe, etc. If it's in the game, it's in Wowhead.

Luckily, the people that run Wowhead have created one for SWTOR: www.torhead.com. Should be a great reference for the game.

Pants, I semi cheated by doing the same path in Beta, So I knew where all the quests were up to level 28 and where I had to go and little tricks like that. Plus knowing a decent rotation for skills to use and which companion is better at certain things was helpful.

I gotcha. I get too side tracked when I play. Like last night... I logged on, had 2 hours to play and spent 1.5 of them on a totally random, pug raid for a world boss. LMAO

But you know, that's what's so awesome about these games.

I spend an unbelievable number of hours just riding around on my speeder right now. I spent at least 3 exploring Tatooine yesterday and have done the same today on Alderaan. Toons to this point are a level 29 Gunslinger, and level 19 Jedi Sentinel and Jedi Sage. Oh, and the crafting. I'm so freaking addicted to the crafting. Have a Synthweaver, Artificer and Cybertecher.

This is the worst game I have ever played in terms of "okay, I'll just do one more thing and then go to bed" and then all of a sudden the sun's up and I'm like wtf.

So do the planets open up a bit after you get off your faction's capital planet? It seems like Tython, Korriban, Hutta, Ord Mantell, and Coruscant are fairly linear. Kind of makes me want some wide open spaces.

keg in kc 12-21-2011 08:51 PM

The game's linear beginning to end (which is great for me; I strongly dislike open world games). But the planets become much, much larger in scale. And the only thing you're really forced to do, per se, is your class quest string. If you want to just wander around and explore or kill or pvp or do space combat or flashpoints or whatever, you can. There's a lot of xp to go around for people who aren't as into story as other folks might be.

Finally got my legacy unlocked literally 5 minutes before the maintenance hit. I'm giddy as a schoolgirl right now.

Silock 12-22-2011 02:14 AM

What's a legacy?

And how long are the servers down for?

keg in kc 12-22-2011 02:26 AM

The Legacy is a system that unlocks the first time you finish Act 1 of any class quest series. Usually happens in the 29-33 range, depending on the player and class. Right now it'll just give you a surname that you select that will carry across all your toons. You don't have to use it as a surname, though. You can set the game to also identify your characters as "Legacy of <surname>" or to not display it at all on a character-by-character basis. For example, my Gunslinger unlocked it, and chose the Legacy name "Sunstrider". So she's Teela Sunstrider. My Consular is Talan Sunstrider, or if I'd prefer, Talan, Legacy of Sunstrider.

I haven't dabbled around with legacy experience yet, so I'm not sure how it's gained, but eventually, it will unlock abilities across your account. But that's not ingame yet, and nobody really has any idea what it will entail.

I think the servers are down until 6, but I'm not sure about that.

I am having trouble with my Bounty Hunter rotation.....Powertech side, I mean I had 3 guys who had 480hp kill me yesterday, and im level 12. Also several times, I have taken the wrong routes to get to my quest, which resulted in a LOT of backtracking.

Are you upgrading your equipment? Do you have your companion out supporting you? Are you getting all of your abilities from the trainer when you level up? (I was a dumbass and didn't realize that there was another tab at the trainer that had several AC skills that I had missed)

Those are just the basics that come to mind. I don't know much about Bounty Hunters, but that's going to be my first Sith alt.

Hey Keg, couple questions.

First, whats your impression on the toons you have been playing lately? Rolled any Empire?

For crafting, what level does that start at? My highest level character is a level 8 Sith Inquisitor and i just got to the space station and learned some crafts, but have yet to get started crafting. Mostly, because I am still learning and not sure what to do.

Fun game so far. Really has surprised me so far...
