I don't think that way is really any more realistic than continuing to draft traits and develop guys over time.

The Chiefs tried that strategy last year… Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris… with disastrous results.

Yeah. I’m glad they added a more stable option to go with the high risk approach for the coming season.

Jaylon Moore creates a nice solid floor. If he’s good and becomes the long-term solution and Simmons ends up going the way of Drake Jackson, no one will ultimately care.

No one would care?

So, it’s okay to miss on 3 first round picks? CEH, FAU and Simmons.

It would be a very bad look.

Correction:

Only idiots trying to grind against Veach will care.

Two of those would be about injury. But I sense you have an agenda

Is it okay to hit into a double play?

No, but name a great player who hasn’t done that on occasion

Good thing he hits on so many other picks.

Does anyone hold it against Howie Roseman that Andre Dillard was a bust?

Nope. Because they found Mailata in round 7, so it doesn’t matter.

Yep. And as ****ed as the Niners currently are, it's actually not entirely because they whiffed on Trey Lance due to finding a franchise QB (limited or not) in round 7

"But you wasted those picks that could've been something else!"

...implying that every draft pick needs to result in a quality player or else "It's not okay!" as Inmen put it

Regarding CEH, I just swap
him with Sneed and it's okay. If you're going to miss on first rounders, you got to make up for it later on. And that draft, Veach certainly did.

The 9ers could have been a lot better if that trade didn't happen.

That's not the point.

You're a GM. You're GOING to **** up draft picks. 1st rounders... 2nd rounders... hell, you're probably going to draft Hitler with your 7th rounder.

You're GOING to **** up.

The key is to just find good players and find more good players than other GMs.

So the question, "Why did you **** up that 1st round pick?" is a worthless question to ask unless you're ****ing up more draft picks than other GMs do.

I think a lot of people forget what a high percentage of ALL 1st picks are not hits, let alone picks taken 30 or later.

Again a bust version of josh Simmons at left tackle is an upgrade over thuney at left tackle. And probably the guy we signed too. A big factor will be if mahomes comes into camp lean and in shape.

xztop123 05-11-2025 08:50 PM

His pass blocking in the Michigan game looked not good. He looked like a better run blocker going off that game alone. Looks like him and the left guard caused the game losing int throw
