Funny, Peyton Manning gets RIPPED here for similar accomplishments.

Hmmm. People here hate Manning, love Cowher.

Funny, right?

This. Plus a shiny new #1 pick QB like Geno Smith could help invigorate him as well

Again, the only reason people are even talking about him is his history with KC.

This organization needs a FRESH start, not someone hired partly to sell tickets.

Dafuq?

Cowher is being talked about in a ton of circles as a viable coaching option. The only reason we think our sad sack of a franchise actually has a chance at him is because of his history with KC.

We're not getting Gruden or Kelly, we're probably not going to get Reid. Those guys aren't coming here with this place in tatters. If they're going to a shit franchise, they'll at least go to a shit franchise like Philly where they'll spend to win, Dallas where they do appear to be on the cusp of something better or SD...where the weather's nice.

If you want a 'name' HC in here, it's going to be because of his connections. Otherwise he's not going to get within smelling distance of Arrowhead.

Bludgeon him for 1 SB in 15 years, yet extol Billick's offensive knowledge while disregarding and excusing his putrid offenses in Baltimore.

Never in position. 31 other teams passed on Brees. We kill Pioli for these types of excuses, and rightfully so. Results or GTFO, right?

People that rip on Peyton Manning are largely !@#$ing morons.

Mannings one of the 5 best QBs in the history of this league and I'd listen to an argument putting him anywhere in there, all the way up to #1.

whiffed on every QB he's ever drafted but hes drafted guys that we could only dream that Scott Pioli drafted in the last 4 years. He's no joke except for the whole missing on the QB thing lol

Now look at the list of guys drafted under Cowher from 1992-2006.

Not even close to what Billick did in half the time.

Again, I was the first person to go pro-Billick and I certainly wasn't extolling his offensive knowledge...

Sam Mellinger ‏@mellinger

It's like Clark Hunt broke up with Scott Pioli, but they're gonna try to still be "friends." I expect Clark's new girl to stomp that out.

CaliforniaChief 12-31-2012 04:45 PM

If Soren is right on his sources, Cowher's not interested.

Chip Kelly isn't Jesus Christ either.

Clark's the one painting this organization into a corner by wanting to hire a guy and give him complete control.

I don't see complete control anywhere.

I think that's actually a 180 from what Clark has said at this point. He wants both to be able to make input on decisions

Petro is saying Cowher isn't interested?

RealSNR 12-31-2012 04:47 PM

This has been the finest non-Geno football conversation I've seen since last year's draft.

Really enjoyed reading this one.

O.city 12-31-2012 04:49 PM

Clark has, IMO, painted himself in somewhat of a corner. He wants this big HC, but what if they won't come here?
