Is there a good reason NOT to throw DP money at Espinoza? SKC is clearly a better team when he's on the pitch.

This is true. We still need that goal scorer of course. It is one of those things...other teams that have interest could throw some serious coin at him. Especially if he keeps killing it in the Olympics. SKC could offer like...in the neighborhood of 1 to 1.5 million a year. Maybe that is enough...but its tough to tell.

He is a player that is fared well and played in World Cups, Olympics, Gold Cups...all kinds of good shit. He has a legit shot at an MLS Cup and CONCACAF CL play here with SKC.

For sure. It's tough to keep up with the Joneses that have three DPs, let alone the numerous clubs that have two, when SKC doesn't even have one. I'd think that OnGoal can pony up for two DPs.

I think they wanted to but it just fell through like in the case with the Spanish striker. They will do it if it is the right situation but the last thing they want to do as a small market club is to get a DP just to get a DP. I have heard of a few instances this year where everyone involved was close but it just did not work out for one reason or another.

That and the guys we have here are capable of getting it done against the best.

I look forward to watching what happens to our form when we are not playing 2 games a week every week for a month in this kind of heat.

I bet the pendulum starts swinging the other way.

Another interesting issue I hadn't really thought of that some people are talking about lately. When you look at the splits of performance of home games and road games we play really well on the road...we play as good on the road as any team in the history of the franchise. Some are starting to wonder if the constant packed houses and rabid fans are creating a pressure to perform that the guys are not doing a good job of dealing with. Obviously being a professional is dealing with that pressure but this being a factor would not surprise me.

I thought that myself this past week. It's like they are pressing at home because they so don't want to disappoint the passionate fanbase.

I really hope you're right about the pendulum.

I liked the creativity out of the small black guy that has been playing lately. The Neven Game has been good so far.

If you watch hockey a bunch often in playoffs teams play better keep their shape better. Especially the penguins cause they want to get way out of wack trying to push the puck up ice. Reminds me what happens to skc at times.

Started work on a TIFO display that will cover the whole Cauldron for the Cup Final. It is not quite the one I wanted but it is still pretty damn good.

Espinoza had a monster game including a goal and an assist but Honduras falls in a close one against Brazil.

He will be flying back on a private jet tomorrow and all signs are pointing to him being available for the Open Cup final.

Sad for Roger. Happy for me.

Team GB with the most obvious finish to a match ever.

Yea I did one of those things were I just watched it all play out...knowing that what I was rooting for didnt matter.

Its a pretty cool deal as someone who loves SKC and loves Roger though. He had an amazing run and we get him for the USOC.

Will be Four Strong in the Cauldron tonight! Bringing my vs. AFC West intensity to it. Not sure the Sounders know what they are stepping into... Let's kick their rain soaked scared of 90 degrees basketball team losing Walmart of coffee shops San Francisco wannabe city all the way back two time zones...

Okay they did push out Band of Horses....

And they better be getting ready for the funeral....
