It's a bunch of crap. If Ventura did that, or if we retaliated tonight, we're the bad guys, again. But Samardjiza or Aaron Sanchez or Syndergaard can just go to town and "that's baseball." Complete BS. We play these guys in the opening series next year. We can take care of business then. But someone from the Mets should wear one in the ear. You don't try and throw at someone's head just because he swings at the first pitch all the time. Escobar did nothing inflammatory to deserve that. If you want to do that, it's fine, but you can't complain when the other team strikes back. |
So how did it go in here tonight?

We made jokes about your national pastimes being moose ****ing and syrup chugging. But we know you guys have the internet in Canada. |

I was disappointed Ventura didn't throw at him. He didn't throw inside either. He threw it right at his head.

One pitch with obvious intent is all it takes.

I don't follow the Royals close enough to know if it's in retaliation. |

Rogers is almost as good with Internet up here as they are with baseball (which is, to say, not very). |
A sweep was highly unlikely. We got to Syndergaard just fine. Had a lead on him and Ventura just shit himself. Then Ned punted by using our worst reliever, who promptly little leagued us right out of the game.
People love stupid comparisons to other series(how many times have you heard the Mets were down 0-2 in 1986, before winning it?), so here's one: This looks a whole lot like the ALCS. Royals win games 1 and 2 then go to Toronto and basically get waxed in game 3. About the only difference is we didnt tack on some much overhyped garbage time runs in this game, like we did in that one. Oh but we did get a free look at Familia just like we did at Osuna in game 3. Obviously, I don't think we win 14-2 tomorrow but we can win. I know everybody is afraid that since the Mets have seen CY, they're going to light him up, but CY is far from stupid. He knows he's gonna need to throw different pitches in different counts and do something to change up his approach. Dude has responded big time whenever asked this year. Plus, Duffy and Medlen can each go 2 or more tomorrow. CY needs 4 good innings. That's all |
