It rocks and it's all you'll need for years. Won't really need to upgrade unless your doing some type of video. |

lol. Amazon.com I believe. |
OTHER than the traditional CP snarky comments...a VERY pleasing, informative thread! Thanks for all the input!!

Canon SX260 HS here. Really like it. Probably the best picture quality out of the higher class point and shoot cameras and you get a lot of control by going full manual. The only thing I wish it had was an auto panorama like the Sony point and shoots. You can still do panorama's with the Canon but you have to load all the pictures on your computer and stitch them, kind of a pain in the ass and it doesn't always line up correctly.
Heard this years upgrade from Canon, the SX280 HS, has a real problem with battery drain when shooting video. |
Canon point and shoot's have ability to use a custom firmware called CHDK. Allows for hundred dollar p & s cams to shoot raw DNG files, time lapse, all kinds of cool features. Just throwing it out there.

I ended up ordering Elements today whilst it was on sale for $66 bucks.
....now I'll see if I can figure out how to use it. lol |

I still use 2.0 Will make your pics pop out and slap you in the face. Just learn how to use image: Enhance - Quick Fix Enhance - Auto Levels Leave your original master in tact and resave it as another name when you adjust the colors, crop, etc. That way you can go back and start over if you need to. Eventually you will know which master files you can change and which ones you need to resave. When you get more confident |
thanks dude. I 'll see what kind of damage I can do haha.
I also read that it's best to shoot it 'fine' resolution / large sizes; you can then re-save etc (like you said ) and make any size adjustments to it. I had been only shooting in the normal mode /size for now. not sure if what I read was the case or not. Too much shit to try to digest when researching for more than 15 minutes at a time lol |

For that of you that have, or still do, use a Canon 20D...do you have any preference in CF memory cards? Brand/speed?
