If I'm told that I have to either relocate somewhere like Cleveland or I'd lose my job, I'd relocate to Cleveland. But Trent wants to hold all the cards. He makes 7.2 freaking million dollars this year. He's made more money than his grandkids, grandkid's kids will ever need and he wants to act like a bitch. I don't know what dilluted world you live in, but the Chiefs shouldn't just ****ing give this guy away. |

Haven't you been paying attention around here? |

Because Carl is the arrogant one here. He told Green to go out and find a team that you could play for and then Carl would take care of the rest. In all honesty Green isn't worth more than a 6th round pick. He's 37yrs old, mobility is waay out of the question, he plays scared, he is a system QB that played well behind one of the greatest Olines this league has ever seen with a great running game and arguably the best TE in NFL history. Without that Green isn't anything more than an avg NFL QB. Coming off a bad concussion injury let alone his age completely lowers his value. |
There's no precedent for giving someone a starting QB for a 6th-round pick. None whatsoever.
Joe Montana was coming off a major injury and hadn't done shit since, I dunno, 1991? 1990? We gave up a friggin FIRST-ROUNDER for him. |

NewChief,
The Chiefs asked Trent to restructure his contract and Trent declined. Trent then asked to be traded because he wants to be a starter in a system he knows. Until it can be proven otherwise I will maintain that Trent could have restructured and remained in KC and been in nearly the same scenario he will be in Miami- a chance to start this year but not next. What is the difference? Certainly not a chance to win the SuperBowl. A chance to start? I think he would have had that here although I know that point is debatable. Well, guess what- the starter's position is not guaranteed in Miami, either, or they would have offered more than a throw-away pick to acquire Trent. Familiarity with the system and the OC? Sorry, but at this stage in Trent's career he is in no position to be choosy. If Trent is in fact worth only a late round pick (Trent himself said that is his value) then he should also realize that 6th round picks don't get to choose where they go. He should additionaly realize the difficulty normal people have sympathizing with a millionaire who doesn't get exactly what he wants, when he wants it. |
Where was all of this trashing when Trent was throwing for 4000 yards, being a stellar leader waiting for the defense that never showed up. There was no complaining, no calling him a "whiney bitch" and all of this BS that goes on around here. Even if you don't agree with his stance in this situation, He and the Chiefs front office are in a chess match. When it's all said and done, I'll still be all chief, wearing my jersey on Sundays and I'll also be a Trent Green fan. The planet will always be the planet filled with some good comments but primarily easy chair general managers and head coaches who really don't know their butt from a hole in the ground as far as football business. These guys all know what they're doing, we've got no choice but to ride it out. I wish him totally the best. If the Chiefs don't make the SB, I would seriously love for Trent to make it. Neither will probably happen, but oh well.

If I knew that I was in the last few years of my contract, I would hold the cards. He wants to start, more power to him, he deserves it. He wants to spend his last few years in Miami in a coaching system where he doesn't have to go back to the drawing board, can't blame him for that. If I was sitting in his position where I could hold some of the cards, I would. So would you. Trent, do your thing. Carl, you're obviously going to do yours. Me, I have to begin thinking about more important things like my fantasy league next year and winning the "Bumlardy" trophy.

Where were the people complaining when he threw for 4k? They weren't. If you didn't know that already, you're a bigger reerun than I imagined. |

I personally love the guy and I want to see this shit end, before he just completely implodes and becomes hated. He needs to STFU and STFD. This "Press Conference" was pointless and un-needed...all it did was stir more shit. Trent, I love ya, now shut up. Carl, I know you want what's best for the team, and right now getting rid of Trent at any price is best. Let him go and let us all move on... |
Trent has never ever won anything ever.
