There is some confusion over the Karl Dorrell news that was reported last night. First we reported he had joined the Chiefs, and late last night the Kansas City Star reported he was headed to Miami.

Both reports are correct. When we updated our website at midday, Dorrell at the time had agreed to become Kansas City's wide receivers coach.

Later, Miami informed him he would be elevated to offensive coordinator in 2009 if he joined the Dolphins' coaching staff. He took the better deal.

As for Eric Price, it looks as if he'll be in Kansas City eventually, but we're not sure if it's as WR or QB coach right now.

If that's the case, your major error was in reporting he was the new coach rather than the two sides had agreed in principle.

I think I'm going to need some popcorn for this.

With all respect, Mr. GoChiefs, that stretches the credulity thing. Just a plain ol' "oops" might have been a better damage control strategy.

I mean, either he was hired or he wasn't.

So if I were to pony up $99.99, is this what I should expect?

So Dorrell is officially with Miami now?? Only the chiefs can **** it up in the end. I hope we get price.

I don't think so, Mr. kstater. Breaking news like this is part of a special package you receive that includes an 8x10, color, glossy photograph of somebody you don't know and a dart board for only $74.95.

Oh, I didn't know that.
Well then, what kind of misinformation does $99.99 buy me?

teedubya 01-22-2008 10:34 AM

What a joke. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with such hack "journalism".

Miami sweetened the deal. Can't be mad at the Chiefs for losing out by not selling him a bill of goods.

The irony is, he probably would've been a frontrunner for the Chiefs OC spot in 2009 too...
