Nice people might find they come to like me Skip, just ask Guru. I've done some nice things for him, because he's not a dick.

Yeah, we all have our dip**** fellow fans. It may seem as though there are more KU dip**** fans here and now. I would argue that there were just as many KSU dip**** fans in the 90s when KSU dominated in football. Or MU fans after last year's big KU/MU football game and this year during the football season. Well, until KU beat them. :D Point is, all fanbases have those idiots. KU fans may seem to be worse right now but that is because we have some things to brag about.

In a way, I don't blame you, mikey. Some fans take it too far and they get downright mean. That is the way of the internet, I guess. I used to get kind of worked up over some of those. And yes, at times I still get annoyed by certain dip****s. But for the most part, I just ignore stupidity. Just don't let that get to you.

This is a nice, Kotter-like attempt at equalizing things, but its just not true. KU fans are douchier on the whole, due to their sense of entitlement. They're like Steelers fans.

MU fans would say that. Of course, there is no bias in your post at all. ;)

But crime wise, I wouldnt live in that city even if you paid me. Have to worry about drive throughs gettin shot and mugged and shit, its one of the highest rated cities as far as crime goes.

No thank you. They're obviously stupid if they go there, and have to be gettin to paid just to go there.

Helobious.

He might not get the offer though (he's got to get past Pitino, Dixon and Izzo first), but I hope he does.

:p

That. Is. ADORABLE.

I think you mean 2009. And 2010. And beyond.

Cal and Self are ****ing insane. To lose as much as either did and still be back in the hunt is mindboggling.

Truth is what you speak.

Hey UP, you see that Wall was quoted in an interview today that Memphis is his favorite and always has been? Unbelievable.

Let's see. If Tyreke stays, Wall goes elsewhere and Memphis is "stuck" with a pre-season AA. If Tyreke goes, Memphis gets the GROAT --- but for real. Things could happen to throw it off,Cousins still needs to take test and Wall could throw a curve, but Cal is in a freakin' zone right now with recruiting.

Ultra Peanut 03-09-2009 11:36 PM

It's pretty sexy.

Quote:

"Memphis is in the lead right now," said Wall, a 6-foot-4, 184-pound point guard from Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God Christian Academy. "They have always been in the lead with the other schools right behind them. I've liked Memphis a lot even before they started recruiting me. I'm still going to finish my visits, but Memphis is in the lead by a little."

Honest question here UP. Do you really think there is enough touches in a game for Henry, Cousins, potentially Wall, and anyone else coming back. Not to mention the chance that Evans comes back, unlikely I know but his hype has not been as much as other super freshmen in the past few years.

I think Wall commits to Memphis if Evans leaves and if Evans stays who knows. Could end up at KU but I think the staff feels like Stephenson is a bigger need. This doesn't even acknowledge that KU only has 2 open spots for next season and already have 3 players in Johnson, Robinson, Whitey. Even if Cole was to go pro and Sherron stayed they would need to have someone transfer to get Wall/Stephenson. Cole and Sherron going pro would make room for those 3 plus hopefully one more, but then KU is right back to being really young and inexperienced.

Also I enjoy your opinion in most things so I won't be to harsh but your comments about many miracles to win and Arthur's grade issue earlier in the thread are ridiculous. KU controlled more of the game then Memphis until a bad stretch when Rose turned it on and started the push. Rose's fall away bank shot was tougher and more of a miracle then Chalmers 3 if you just compare the actual shot and not situation(not to mention Mario has hit that shot many times off the exact same set play).

Finally the whole issue of Arthur's grades is ridiculous to even think KU is at fault considering is it the NCAA's job to clear all student athletes from KU basketball players to girls soccer at some tiny D1 school.

Ultra Peanut 03-10-2009 12:20 AM

Evans is probably going to be a Top 5 pick when all is said and done, so I don't think it will end up weighing too heavily on Wall's decision. He's shown remarkable versatility and a ton of valuable traits, both mental and physical, over the course of the season.

Cal is beyond the level of master when it comes to getting guys to buy in. I have zero doubts about his ability to herd cats and get guys to play together. Losing Dorsey, CDR, and Allen yet somehow assembling an even better defensive team the very next season is a ridiculous feat.

The one time it failed was when Banks went back to Jersey over the summer and came back disinterested in school, sharing the spotlight with D-Wash, or doing much of anything other than being a cancer. What did Cal do? He dumped Banks, probably as much as a wake-up call as anything, and got that ****ed-up team a couple of free throws away from the NCAA tournament.

Everything went your way in the last 2:12. It was amazing and miraculous, right up there with Tyree's catch and all kinds of other insane sports moments. That doesn't mean fans of the team that came out on top should feel justified in acting like the smuggest mother****ers on the planet, though.

Someone accused Memphis of paying players, so I simply brought up the fact that his own school was on probation and recently relied heavily on a player who never actually graduated from high school.

On a personal level, I wish the Arthur stuff hadn't happened. Best-case scenario is we finished second to "Vacant" instead of a team that was every bit as awe-inspiring as the one I marveled at all season, and that just blows even more.

KC_Connection 03-10-2009 12:52 AM

I don't think Evans will come back...he's too good not to be a lottery pick for some team.

Still...Memphis with those 3 top prospects....just beastly.
