Plaxico Burress is a pretty good shot in that area I hear. Speaking of pistols, that's the ONLY way our line can hold up on Sunday. But I am ignorantly optimistic as usual, and will need a couple zanex to ward off anxiety that morning. Go Chiefs!

Actually they match up well against New York's wide receivers...the Giants don't have a true gamebreaking threat.

Kevin Boss is the one to be scared of but with DJ playing that might help.

True, but if our LB's continue to play soft, and Pendergast plays the safeties deep to avoid big plays, who the WR's are doesnt matter, they will burn us up the middle.

My analysis:

It's not a question of whether or not a Chiefs player is going to die on the field tomorrow; it's a question of how many.

Thats about what i was going to say, but even i have to admit that its a crapshoot.

Though their wr corp doesnt have that 1 guy, there is still a ton hand raised & well groomed of talent there. They can execute just fine against us right now IMO, from a 'on the same page' level at the least.

But i'd rather let them/make them work for strikes in the air, than get beaten into the mud & humiliated with the run.

If you haven't noticed Manningham and Smith hve been both quite good this year.

That has more to do with New York's OL than anything.

The Chiefs can handle these wide receivers. Whether they can handle New York's OL is something else entirely...

I think that's very questionable if they can matchup, Flowers can matchup with Smith who gets open with route running but we don't really have anyone to play Manningham.

You think Manningham is some huge deep threat? I mean...come on...he's not.

I think Brandon Carr can handle Manningham.

Neither of these guys can be compared to Desean Jackson. That's the kind of WR we struggle against.

Manningham was definitely, 'Instant Star - Just Add Water' last week.

But he is a brand newbian, he could slump a bit tomorrow.

Mecca 10-03-2009 08:07 PM

I don't think Carr has the hips to cover either of those WR's...he's a bigger CB, the Giants WR's are smallish quick guys who break in out and of cuts in a hurry.

Giants fan here, just came to say good luck and you guys are too hard on yourselves lol. We've been reading these posts, really funny stuff. ROFL

It should be a good game, any team has a chance any week. But as far as this quote goes... If you're thinking our WR's are something to sneeze at and gear up to stop the run you're gonna get toasted. We get our #1 pick Hakeem Nicks back this week as well, he's no slouch either if he's ready to get playing time.

Either way, like I said, good luck, enjoy the game, we've spent plenty of years in your shoes and know the feeling.:thumb:

Just so you know Nicks was my favorite WR in the draft this year, there's probably numerous old posts about that.

I think they are good, solid WRs. I just don't think they should be looked at as some huge threat and the Chiefs are overmatched.

I don't think it's going to matter, though, because Eli is going to have all day to throw.
