Before I knew much about football, I chose the Chiefs as my team (in '92, Kreig's first year here).

20 years in KC.

My wife's brother played for them. Despite him eventually moving on to other teams my enjoyment of the Chiefs (or actually of this board) lingered. So, I'm kind of stuck with the Chiefs as my default team. I don't actually follow them that closely any longer, other than what casual participation in the football threads on this board gives me. I don't schedule Sundays around watching them or anything of that nature and find my fandom of pro football to be much more agnostic than back in the days Trent played. If I have to pick a team in the NFL to support, though, it's the Chiefs.

Didn't really have a "hometown team" here, although it was predominately a Philly area by default, with a lot of Redskins and Colts (who I considered for a while) fans too. So, when I was 12 or 13 I proceeded like a free agent (before I knew what one was) because even then I was not interested in following the crowd. Saw that Oakland game in '71 and that pretty much narrowed it down to KC.

Really got into it in '72, just in time of course, for the Chiefs to begin sucking ass.
