I think there were a lot of good reasons to be skeptical about the pick, such as his lack of production in college and his reputation as a workout warrior. On the other hand, his huge potential at a prime defensive position balanced out some of those concerns, in my opinion. It was a classic boom-or-bust type pick and right now it looks like we might've gotten lucky with him.
