Smith is better IMO because he won't **** it up and helps the other phases of the game.
But come the end of the day as much as I hate to admit it the second post is pretty close. One is projectile vomit that burns and hurts and is over quickly the other you have to be patient and let it come on out of there over several attempts.

Look, I'm not going to say Alex is better than Cutler. They're 2 QB's of similar caliber with completely different strengths and weaknesses. They're both pretty shitty, but are better than the bottom rung of the league. Alex plays timid and makes the safe throw and moves past his first read way too quickly, but Cutler plays STUPID and reckless. I'd rather have a smart timid QB than a stupid, bold, strong armed QB.

So I'd rather have Smith.

Now if I had Randy Moss or some other cheat code WR in their prime, I'd rather have Cutler. Cos he has a stronger arm and ALL HE HAS TO DO is throw it up there. On a team with a bad OL and bad WR's I'd take Alex every time.
