I just got lukewarm on Alex.

Anyone who questions the anxiety Chiefs fans feel about the team's chances of advancing in the playoffs clearly hasn't followed this franchise's tormented postseason history.

ReeRun, at some point you need to convince yourself that whatever has happened the last 30+ years has nothing to do with whats going on right now.

Proof positive -

Royals miss the playoffs for a billion years then go to 2 WS in a row and win one.

Cubs win the WS after 108 years of futility.

Trump wins the election having never held office.

Believe man!

Is there a fanbase out there not worried about their teams chances this year outside of NE maybe?

He does have a point with our past history and feelings of post season anxiety..... We're this way for a reason.

He does have a point and I am not pointing fingers at him or you here just an observation.

There is a difference between being worried, and stressed and being negative.

Our odds are probably 20% or something. But its still fun.

I'd rather have my doubts and be proven otherwise than be clamoring how wonderful things are and just be crushed by false hope.


I do have hope because I allow my hopes to be such and I've had those hopes because I'm not discounting anything the Chiefs are doing nor counting them out because what they did last year was phenomenal to say the least from going 0-5 to winning a playoff game. So there is something to this team and I believe they have Grit that rubbed off from the Royals.

I can easily talk myself into believing but the fear of being disappoint is still there.

Although I don't see any reason we can't win it all the stars are aligned

I hope Alex Smith proves myself and other doubters wrong and excels in the playoffs, but his erratic play this year that has been bailed out by timely turnovers and defensive/special teams TD's make this team reek of the 1995 team.

I am hoping things turn out differently, but we'll see.

If the defense can both slow the scoring of the opposition AND create a TD or two out the deal, then it wouldn't be necessary for the offense to score outside of its normal paradigm.

Now that's a TALL order, especially against teams of the caliber that KC will be facing in the playoffs, but unless Andy Reid has more gadgetry stuffed in to his back pocket, that's pretty much how it's going to have to be.

What you can NOT do, is allow either of those teams to get on a roll at 10 or more points greater than you. If that happens, forget about it.
