Everyone needs to chill a bit we hired a whole new staff with a scheme change pretty obvious that meant a ton of change. |

I'm a huge Justin Houston fan, but I have to say. If he was still here, he would probably be the SLB. With that said, looking at Damien Wilson's highlights, I haven't seen Houston attack the run like that in several years. I'm still meh on the signing, but I do think "IF" he starts, he will be better in the run game than Houston.

Chiefs went after House to coach, have let him coach players up now

Looks like we're tired of letting guys run free. We're replacing pass rushers for run stoppers.

You have to have talent SOMEWHERE. If you have a lesser pass rush, then you need DB's who can cover. |

This has been tried. I don't believe for a second that they'll go that route. They'll put Hitchens and have DoD as essentially the full time Will before they put Ragland in there. Unless they're just going to commit to a 4-2-5 and essentially NEVER play the Mike; just run with Hitchens and DoD. Then on obvious run downs they might bring Ragland in to slot between them. Unless the 'base' 4-3 is only run about 15% of the time, I don't see any way Ragland's a part of it. |
I like this signing..looks like he has good player instinct and decent speed playing downhill. Looks like he can get out to the flat also. I'll take it!

Cut Ragland and sign Zach Brown.

Come playoff time, stopping the run is more important than being able to rush the QB. By the time you play in the AFCC or SB, you're gonna get a QB who gets rid of the ball quickly and a good OC who won't put his team in a position where edge rushers have a lot of time to do their thing. Our pass rush looked great against the non-playoff teams that were constantly passing downfield to try to catch up to us in points, but in the big games, it usually is neutralized. Hopefully we can at least be very good at stopping the run, and improved in coverage. If you can do that, you can generate some pass rush with the blitz. |
