It sucks. It's like we are in a giant focus group to be price gouged by every single company there is.

Sony just increased Playstation Plus by almost 30% for each tier....with no upgrade in service.

The more people that steal streaming the higher prices to paying customers. They have to subsidize. Just like health care. One reason its so high is because a large part of the population get care without ever intending to pay for it.

Something needs to be done. The single sub 30 crowd basically just doesnt pay for anything in the streaming community. They just steal it and go on Reddit bragging about it.

This is basically the definition of capitalism.

Here’s the real kicker,

If I purchase a service or a product you SHOULDNT be allowed to advertise other products and services. Specifically video games, micro transactions should be completely banned.

And as for streaming…. I’m not breaking the law, I’m watching the guy who is breaking the laws stream.

I’m just documenting HIS crime if anything

If 90% of the population stole their car but you didnt. Your Nissan Altima would cost three hundred thousand dollars. Company has to get paid somehow. Same thing happens in the insurance world even though its not theft. States force companies with a large PIF (policies in force) to insure certain unprofitable customers at the expense of the others. For every action there is a reaction.

I think ppv individual games is a terrible idea for consumers and leagues. First, you just know bigger games will cost more than Colts vs Cardinals. Also, who wants to sit down and decide to watch a game based on how much value they will get for that individual game?

“I want to watch the second half but I won’t be available for the first two hours so I guess I just won’t buy it. I’ll just get the steam when I’m available later.”

“I’ve got an hour to kill until I need to do something so I’ll sit and watch a few games. Oh but I have to pay for each game as if I’m watching both of the games all the way through? I’ll just stream until I have to leave.”

For the league it would be far too unpredictable on revenue and ultimately would cost them more money as people really would feel no choice but to stream in many cases where they just can’t commit to watching a whole game.

Or they literally have to decide at each moment they sit down to watch a whole game to click the option to pay for the game or watch it free on a stream. It would also undoubtedly cost the consumer more money if they watch any significant amount of games.

bingo. It's out there for public consumption.

If you think about it, how is that any different than my neighbors watching my big screen over the fence?

Should the NFL go after my neighbors for watching a broadcast without permission?

Comparing a televised product to a physical product doesn't make sense. The comparison would be if the only way to watch the game was to buy a ticket and 90% of people snuck in for free.

Right?

If I’m on one of those streaming website I’m not ACTUALLY breaking any laws. I’m merely watching OTHERS break the law. I just so happen to see the Chiefs play in HD

That's actually the underlying legality of the situation, as simple as it seems. It's not illegal to watch a pirated stream. It's illegal to host a pirated stream.

It's morally wrong to knowingly benefit from someone else's illegal activity, but your correct it isn't technically breaking the law. Some people have morals and some don't when it comes to getting what they want.

Am I taking something from someone else if I drive over the speed limit?

Here's a better example:

Have you ever been sober and rode in one of your friends cars as they drove drunk? You wouldn't technically be breaking the law in this instance, but you would be morally bankrupt for doing so.

If we are really going to say someone using a stream to watch a game doesn't have morals.

Yes man watching that illegal stream makes you a terrible person that has no morals.
