Was that popularity for being a good QB in the NFL? Nope. |
Especially a first round qb, who was projected to go in the third round or later, was drafted by a dipshit kid like coach, who you fired.

Quinn can't even beat out Cassel.

how about Cassel plays with 2nd string this week and Quinn plays with 1st string? |
Our HC drafted Quinn, started him in Cleveland.
If he were better than Cassel, he'd be playing. |

You are a TERRIBLE troll. Or stupid. |

So you think Brady Quinn, guy who couldn't beat out Tim Tebow, Kyle Orton, or Derek Anderson is better than Cassel.
Based on what? |

i'd go with a First rounder every time. |
If Cassel gets hurt and Quinn does infact earn the 2 spot and plays, goes on to have a shitty performance, I'm building the fire for Boss to roast Mr. Tomahawk on.

on guts and leadership quality alone i'd take Tebow over Cassel anyday. Tebow = 1 playoff win Matt Cassel = 1 Shitfilled uniform after the Ravens loss. |

Books out on Tebow. Dude is garbage, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting cut from the Jets in the next year or two.
The guy just isn't a qb. Wanna run the wing T, or the option? Yeah he's the best guy to do that. Want to run an offense in the NFL that is successful? Not so much. |
Quinn was #2 on the depth chart in Denver. The fans had been chanting for Tebow and the Broncos elected to grant their wishes. The the first game of the playoffs, they starting making a special package for Brady Quinn to come in if they need to pass, because you know, thats the QB's job and they thought Tebow wouldn't be able to do it for them.

I'd love for history to repeat itself. |
Quinn's gonna have to get extremely lucky to even get a chance here in KC. I think it's too late for him TBH.

More than a spot start.
Cassel, like it or not, is the starter. Quinn is gonna have to be that much better and hope Cassel gets hurt or plays terrible. |
Brady Quinn is fools gold.
But he's our fools gold. |

So say Cassel does miss a game or two. Quinn woudl have to dominate to show he deserves a chance.
Besides, Cassel hasn't ever had a line this good, he won't miss a game this year. |
Quote:
|
What exactly makes you think Quinn would be this good, if given the chance?
What he did in Cleveland? Or at ND? |

What a pussy. |

Falcons have a good pass rush and really good corners. The Bills pass rush is gonna be very very good and they have some playmakers in the secondary The Saints are gonna put up points that Cassel is gonna have to match with his arm. The Chargers defense added a few nice pieces and Rivers will put up points Cassels arm will need to keep up with ravens The buccaneers arent top shelf good, but they have a good DL and LBs and their offense should be able to put points on the board. Its not out of the question that by the bye week, Cassel will have played himself out of the starters spot. |
I've yet to read an answer as to why some are thinking he has a chance to be good, other than he was good in college?
|

Whats your point? |

Your welcome. |

Doesn't he have to awarded an opportunity before he can be judged? |

There are lots of things to clown Cassel on, being physically tough isn't one of them. To me, he is a mental pussy because the blitz destroys him. As soon as he feels any pressure (real or not) he stops looking downfield almost immediately. |

Quote:
Something will cause him to miss a game....injury....family situation...I don't know. But he has yet to play a complete season. I don't know how stating that he will miss a game this season is such a radical statement given his history...? |

remember that Quinn would have been the starting QB in his 3rd year had Romeo not been fired. The new coach came in and wanted big turnover an Quinn was a casualty of that.
|
Quote:
Didn't say that. I said..he accomplished more than Cassel did in College. |
To be honest Tomahawk, I'm really just playing devils advocate here. I've liked Quinn since he was in ND and I think qb play has alot to do with situation.
I'm just not sure I wanna jump on that train. |
Quote:
He has looked good this preseason. |
So let me get this right, I asked what made you think Quinn would be a GOOD qb if given the chance.
You said, he was better than Cassel in college. Correct? |
Quote:
We can hope, but I keep going back to the Tyson comment. "everybody has a plan till they get hit in the mouth" Those are some tough defenses/teams to have as your first 6 games. |
LOL who brought this terrible thread back. It should be pining the fords at this point.
|
Setsuna, what makes you think Quinn is so bad?
|
Quote:
Just pointing out our current QB did, well, nothing in college... So what does it matter what he did in college or Cleveland? All I care is what he does now. When he gets a chance (to start). |

Quote:
ND? You're kidding, right? |
Who gives two shits what these guys did in college?
It was a million years ago and doesnt matter to anything except a players ceiling. |

I loooove that people always point to Cleveland in their arguments trying to say someone sucks. I'm a Cleveland Cavs fan, its pretty well known that city just doesn't win.
Denver? Yeah what was a crap shoot and anyone who followed it knew they had to go with Tebow. |

I really hope Cassel plays at a Pro Bowl level. I hope any starting QB for the Chiefs plays at a pro bowl level. Having said that, the odds are in favor of one of our backups starting at least one game this year. I think that Quinn, reunited with the head coach who drafted him, with a - gasp - strong running game and a - GASP GASP! - excellent corps of receivers, has a genuine chance to finally develop into the premier passer that people thought he could be. I would be happy for Cassel if he did it, too. I would. But part of me would be giddy if it were Quinn. Just remember people, if Quinn comes out and leads this team to victory, it's yet another reason to hate Carl Peterson! :hmmm: |
