I'd say the AFC is down, but part of it, there are just some good defenses, people equate good defense = bad football. I mean, Ed Reed has been playing at a level as well as anyone this year, for instance, but people equate that to bad football.

You're a failure as a Chiefs fan. Rooting for a division rival to win the Superbowl? How can any Chiefs fan stomach that?

The upside to the Colts losing means we can interview Chris Polian tomorrow

I want to see them lost to the Panthers in the Super Bowl, but I totally get what you're saying.

It's... they're harmless.

Dungy:

Disappoinging locker room.

We didn't make enough plays to win.

All we needed to do was get a first down and we didn't.

Gave most kudos to the Charger punter for pinning them back.

Because the Superbowl is marketed to the Non fan. It's for a bunch of idiots that haven't watched a game all year. I hate the frigging superbowl. I hate the stupid superbowl parties where a bunch of people that haven't watched a game all year get together and try to talk about football. I hate that they spend more time worrying about the frigging commercials than they do about the game.

I hate all that yellow on the field for the last drive, but it's not like Indy wasn't shooting themselves in the foot. At the very least, you'd think that Dungy got his just desserts for thinking the overtime rules didn't need to be altered.

I hate the flags too, but they were all really good calls. The only iffy one was the defensive holding by the corner, but that would have been iffy only because I thought it was PI, not holding. Either way, it was still a penalty and the Colts did what they shouldn't have done. They called heads.

I would never bet on heads because tails never fails. If there was something that rhymed well or some catchy saying for heads... maybe?

Here's a list from rhymezone...

Words and phrases that rhyme with heads: (26 results)

beds, breads, dreads, ed's, edds, fed's, feds, fred's, head's, keds, ned's, reds, reds', sheds, shreds, sleds, sledz, spreads, ted's, threads, treads

2 syllables:
purebreds, redheads, retreads

3 syllables:

They will try and sell before Obama becomes president so Hiezinga doesn't get taxed too much. Parcells has an automatic out after the Dolphins are sold. all he has to do is give 30 days notice.

Did they luck into one of the best draft records of this decade?

If you have no faith in the way Indy runs the franchise (solid drafting, no wasted cash on high priced FA's) then there's no one we can hire you'll be happy with.

And that's coming from someone who thinks there are better options than Polian.

You're absolutely crazy. They draft better than almost anyone. They pick guys up off the scrapheap and turn them into starters while we struggle to pick in the 2nd round. Bill Polian probably has as good of a record as anyone in football over the last 2 decades. His draft record is outstanding. Remember when Manning was drafted many, many people didn't even think he was the best QB in the draft, it's easy to armchair it nowadays.

You can go way beyond that. Mathis, Freeney, and on and on... and the funny thing is he gets criticized for going off the board sometimes... or making a different pick... like Edge, or Reggie Wayne, Freeney was supposedly too small, etc... but more times than not he's usually right. How many big time busts do you remember the Colts having? Almost never, which is unheard of, even for 1st round picks.

The other thing that the Colts have is COACHING. Tony Dungy is not Herm Edwards, and the Colts staff is MUCH better than ours. Next time Herm has a 9 game winning streak, we can compare him to Tony Dungy.

Oh, I know. As UP pointed out, it can become a pretty long list.

Indy has as strong a drafting record as anyone in the league.

What's so good about either? Sanders plays 1/3 of the time...and Gonzalez was a 1st round pick who dropped a pass tonight that changed the entire game...he catches that pass in the 4th quarter...it's 2nd and 1 from San Diego 35...instead he drops a pass (that hits him in the hands)...it's 2nd and 10 and then they get a holding penalty the next play and forces them to punt...when they were driving for the dagger score.

Those guys were not good picks.

Indy got Peyton...plain and simple...they can draft any offensive skill player and they will not bust because Peyton makes everyone around him better.

Manning is the reason for the success of the franchise...

They could have plucked two dozen Bob Sanders and without the best QB of all time they'd still be drafting in the top 10.

Manning makes every offensive pick bust proof.

I don't want Polian. He trusted Dungy to be the head coach...that alone makes me think he'll keep Herm on. No Herm. No Tampa 2. ANYTHING else.

The fact Peyton SINGLE-HANDEDLY won 12 games this year is unbelievable.

Oh please.

The 9 game winning streak was because of ONE draft pick...the #1 overall.

Peyton Manning was unbelievable this year.

Put him on the Chiefs...with Herm...and this team...this year...and we EASILY win the West...by two games.

Then pray the Chiefs new GM puts all his effort into finally finding this team a young franchise qb and stop worrying about Colts.

Those guys were not good picks.

Indy got Peyton...plain and simple...they can draft any offensive skill player and they will not bust because Peyton makes everyone around him better.

I'm not sure if you're stupid, or just trying to be controversial.

Nevermind.

That cleared up any confusion on my part.

The 9 game winning streak was because of ONE draft pick...the #1 overall.

Peyton Manning was unbelievable this year.

Put him on the Chiefs...with Herm...and this team...this year...and we EASILY win the West...by two games.

Manning would refuse to step foot on the field with our line.

I don't understand.

Sanders misses so many games...how is he a good pick? He is unbelievably good at football...so talented. He played 6 games this year...he played about the same last year...that's not a good pick.

Gonzalez is a quality player. He was a 1st round pick. What do you expect? He has yet to have a Brandon Stokley type season...so instead of wasting a first round pick on Gonzalez...why didn't they resign Stokley and draft a linebacker or something they needed in the first round instead of a luxury who has done nothing more than be a 4th option...

The Colts are a 2 or 3 win team, tops...if Pollard took out Manning 8 minutes into the season.
