Alex Smith had he become a true distraction this year, could of really ruined things. |

he has the #1 charity in ALL OF PRO SPORTS that actually acts like a non-profit and does NOT pocket the money. They give back at like 91% of the proceeds and that is ****ing amazing when you think about it. Guy's llike A-Rod and their charities donate like 1 percent and keep the rest for themselves. So really, Alex Smith IS one of the best professionals in sports, he's just a really shitty player due to his limited athletic skill set. Matt Cassel was also a nice guy too, didnt get him very far on the field. |

Alex Smiths teammates, have done nothing but commend him. Trent Baalke who never liked alex smith, complimented him, kaep has complimented him, aldon smith, vernon davis. In most forms you are right. No one has ever had a bad thing to say about the guy off the field or as a leader. Its his inability to play at a high level that gets him trashed. So, i agree with you, but in this instance you are incorrect. |
i'd love to see that wishlist Alex Smith gave the 49ers of teams he wanted to play for
probably had 5 teams on it at max that he knew he had a snowflakes chance of starting for. |

Hmmmmm, will he be the #2 CB???...
Sean Jensen @seankjensen Will Dunta Robinson start at CB for Chiefs? His contract suggests no. Here are figures from a source: $4 million http://sulia.com/my_thoughts/e4326a2...source=twitter … |

Damn good deal for your FS.

Bye bye Kendrick Lewis.

3-15 4guaranteed.
I bet he doesn't see the whole contract if its backloaded. |

No way we part with Lewis that quickly. He is an above average backup if Dunta truly moves to FS.
Lewis > Pisdick, Elam, Hartman, McGraw, whomever... |
We should be moving Berry back to FS....
|
Lewis can be what he always shoulda been, a backup subpackage center fielder special teams FS.

Or....we can cut bait.

Lewis would be a pretty good backup. No way I'd cut him.
|
Teams are always looking for quality depth. Why part with a guy who you know can play. Injury concerns and the amount plays he's seen over the course of the past couple of seasons indicate Lewis has value, but likely not as a starter.

5 million per year for a converted corner projecting to safety at 31 years old is a good deal when William Moore just inked for 5/30? The only good part is that the only guaranteed part is the first year. |
Berry will start at Free and Abdullah at SS.
|
William Moore isn't a free safety or IMO he wouldn't be a very good one. If he inked that with Atl, obviously he wasn't getting much play from elsewhere.

Can't help but still loath pioli for letting Carr walk.

We have some nice competition for that 2nd safety spot between Lewis, Robinson and Abdullah. |

Abdullah was a might fine sleeper signing. Dude was a pretty solid player, let's see how the rust effects him.

Wow, is that report is accurate, that's a really good sign. This just shows how shitty Pioli was at his job....

4 mil guaranteed means its a 1 yr deal.

The Cheese Domino's must have been cold in Denver.

Wow, is that what positional depth looks like? And to think, I was tickled pink with the "competition" Scott brought in for his boy Cassel last year!

Sean Smith - DB - Dolphins
"Multiple sources" tell Yahoo the Chiefs haven't ruled out signing free agent "such as" CB Sean Smith despite giving Dunta Robinson a three-year deal. Per Yahoo's Jason Cole, the Chiefs would like to have a strong trio of corners. This could also be an indication they're planning to use Robinson at safety. New coach Andy Reid apparently wasn't deterred by the Eagles' high-dollar disaster at corner his final two years in town. |
Dunta Robinson - DB - Chiefs
One NFL agent told the Denver Post that the Chiefs indeed plan to use Dunta Robinson at safety. It's believed Robinson signed a three-year, $15 million contract with $4 million guaranteed, money befitting a free safety as opposed to a starting corner. A striker in the running game, Robinson has also been an efficient tackling cornerback. The position change would explain Kansas City's continued interest in corners. They still haven't publicly stated Robinson's position. |

So are they going to eventually switch berry to FS and Robinson to SS since Robinson is a good tackler?

Robinson, BTW, made it clear he's a corner and not a safety. |

yea no way Arenas stands for that
two crappier guys in front him with bigger contracts. He's realistically better than both on paper, which is the ironic part |

Arenas could move to FS.

I still think they are looking to add someone. I think Abdullah has the inside track. |
There is no way I want last line of defense being someone as slow or short as Arenas.
Dunta said he was a CB but the CHIEFS didn't say that. He needs to be FS, because he's honestly worse than Sean Smith at CB. |

I'm betting Robinson is used similar to Charles Woodson..

Ill give you Smith at outside CB, but Arenas is better in coverage than both of them, and is just as good in run support as Dunta, Dunta is definitely a better run stopper but Dunta cant cover the broad side of a barn, Javier Arenas can actually kind of cover a guy every once in awhile. Sean Smith is a flat out burn victim but has all the god given physical tools that Arenas lacks. I know Javier is slow, and has already peaked with little upside, but Dunta has 1 leg and lost 100 steps, this isnt 26 year old Houston Texans "pay me" Dunta that was pure speed before he ripped his hamstring right off his bone and became slow as quicksand. This Dunta is just a crafty hard hitting smart veteran, but he is also limited these days. And Sean Smith is slow period, so yea. they all have their pros and cons, I would say Javier has more consistency than both, you know what you are getting with him. |

Can't win em all. |
I just really like Arenas in that nickel spot. He blitzes as well as any corner in the league.
|
Maybe they want Arenas to focus on special teams.
|
Arenas is probably the best guy we have to cover Welker
