Cleveland and the Astros are really having themselves a nuclear arms race to see who the biggest choker is.

Yes, they bought one for him but he never has picked it up. met with the Cubs or returned phone calls from the Cubs.

Baseball is a fickle game. Some of our most shitty teams in the 2000-2015 era were in 2006/2011 and we won the WS.

2005 we may have had the best team of that era and didn't even make it to the NLCS even after Pujols gave Houston a devastating loss at home as they were one strike away from winning the series.

For the Royals what if that WC game that late hit down the LF line is foul?

There aren't really any holes in the Cubs' pen. So it'd make sense to burn through one of your options for next year.

Similarly, I always wonder how the 2013 Royals would have done in the playoffs with that September rotation.

Shields, Santana, Peak Guthrie, Underscouted Duffy, and 102 Ventura. David Ortiz said he wanted nothing to do with that rotation in September.

Except series after series the Royals kept coming up with clutch hitting when they needed it. Houston and Cleveland are talented teams that have both proven they don’t respond well when faced with adversity.

Or about 10 other things in that game... the bad pitch out, a chopper that didn't travel 20 feet but scored Hosmer, if Dyson slides past 3rd (which he about did), etc.... when the best teams barely win 60% of the time, back to back World Series appearances and a championship is pretty amazing no matter how good of a team.

jd1020 10-19-2017 07:06 PM

Mercy rule for the Cubs?

7 runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Pretty pathetic showing from the Cubs offense save for 1 game all postseason. Packing your bags yet Mallee?

carcosa 10-19-2017 07:47 PM

I think this works even better if you change the first two lines to Blow Cubs Blow.

The Franchise 10-19-2017 11:38 PM

Nothing quite beats a Game 7 in October.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-20-2017 09:39 PM

Well that's a relief. Guess McHugh for game 7.

Charlie Morton vs CC Fatbathia

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-20-2017 10:21 PM

Morton... Hmmm. Lots of bad luck in game 3. Hope he turns in a good 4/5 innings.

FloridaMan88 10-21-2017 05:28 PM

Game 7 of the ALCS, featuring the Yankees no less gets bumped to FS1 on cable in favor of a scintillating Kansas-TCU college football game on Fox.

Not a good look for baseball.

I don't think it was really bumped. Most of the series except for 1 game was on FS1.

There's no guarantee there's going to be a game 7. If they flipped those two games and there's no game 7, then FOX has a huge hole in their schedule tonight. FS1, it's no big deal. They can probably run something like Cowherd reruns for the 97th time.

tk13 10-21-2017 06:34 PM

Aaron Judge might have robbed a home run there. It had a shot.

siberian khatru 10-21-2017 06:34 PM

The World Series is the only part of the MLB playoffs still on network TV. The early rounds have been on cable for years now.

penbrook 10-21-2017 07:00 PM

Castro you have to catch that!

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 07:07 PM

Jesus. Astros going to regret not putting up a couple on this fatass. He's the worst pitcher they will face and he doesn't have his best stuff.

George Liquor 10-21-2017 07:10 PM

This is a good game 7 so far

Can't believe he got to Bregman's dink. Might have been a hit if it got through.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 07:19 PM

Gattis hit 2 or 3 head high fastballs for HRs two years ago and he hasn't let one go since. Pitchers have been abusing him with it.

penbrook 10-21-2017 07:19 PM

Joe Buck called that

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 07:31 PM

One more clean inning, Charlie! Then McHugh for 2 or 3

penbrook 10-21-2017 07:41 PM

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 07:47 PM

Great game, Morton! Please don't leave him in, Hinch. Don't be tempted!

penbrook 10-21-2017 07:52 PM

I hate how good Altuve is

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 07:53 PM

Altuve!!!!!!

McCullers is a gamer, but short rest scares me for a guy who has had arm issues and limited pitch counts for most of his career. I was thinking McHugh, but I'm not gonna be upset.

tk13 10-21-2017 08:06 PM

McCann delivers.

siberian khatru 10-21-2017 08:06 PM

Bust it open!

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 10-21-2017 08:07 PM

McCann!

4-run leads. Boy, I've seen those a couple times before. It would hurt so bad....

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-21-2017 08:12 PM

Morton at 54 pitches through five? If that doesn't illustrate the inexperience of the Yankees, I don't know what does.

siberian khatru 10-21-2017 08:23 PM

Do the throat slash, Lance!

Dylan 10-21-2017 08:26 PM

Both teams were pretty much hacking at the first pitch all of the first two innings.

penbrook 10-21-2017 08:50 PM

Let’s see if the Astros can avoid the cursed 8th inning

tk13 10-21-2017 08:57 PM

GloryDayz 10-21-2017 09:01 PM

**** the Yankees..

tk13 10-21-2017 09:03 PM

On the other hand maybe they should just let McCullers finish the game.
