I saw that last night, it was great.

Did he say afterward if that was planned (letting the crowd sing), or did he hear the whole arena joining in and decided on the spot to step back?

Sounds like sort of invited them to join in, and they did.

The professionals took to the ice Wednesday evening, their hope being that, by simply do their jobs well on one emotional night, they could help lift the city and move its citizens forward. Among those professionals was Rene Rancourt, a TD Garden fixture who delivers the national anthem at Bruins home games. But Rancourt, like the Bruins and other Bostonians surrounding him, admitted that even he wasn’t sure he could make it through what promised to be a difficult night. “As I was getting ready, warming up my voice during the day — because it’s not that easy a song to do — I found myself breaking up and tearing up while I was practicing,” Rancourt said on Dennis & Callahan on Thursday morning. “I said, ‘Gee, I don’t know if I can get through this thing.’” That evening, Bruins fans were invited to sing along during the anthem. Rancourt started the song then pulled his microphone down and directed the crowd as it sang the words. “It was a very different sensation for me,” Rancourt said. “This was a first for me. I’ll tell you, I’m speechless for the first time in my life.” Rancourt said it was the Bruins’ idea to let fans join in, and it turned out for the best. “I’m sure that people didn’t even realize how much help I actually did need,” he said. “It was wonderful. The sound was carrying me, lifting me up in the room. It was just something indescribable. … I’m afraid I would have probably broken up a few times during the anthem. I’m not ashamed to admit that. … “It went more than well. I’m just so proud for having been part of it.”

No. But they are saying they are still seeking out a man in a white hat that was near the 2nd bomb area.

Ugh, now Chris Matthews saying they are seeking "younger men"

The old "if these are true" post.

Even if they aren't true they will now remain true for the rest of time for approximately 15% of the population.

I don't know if they are true or not, from the way reporting has gone the media never does either... :)

Did you read any of those links?

I skimmed them. They've been making the rounds since late last night.

They remind me of the Michael Moore stories after 9-11. It was something along the lines of 1 plane being allowed to fly during the no-fly period and it was Bin Ladens family or something crazy like that. They were flown back to Saudi Arabia.

Same shit different day.

Thanks.

That fat **** is always looking for "a few good younger men"

FYI, your "obvious paranoid bullshit" detector is busted. You should probably go buy a new one.

KChiefer 04-18-2013 09:42 AM

I have no idea why you replied to my post with those.

That said, I'll address this garbage once. Let's say Joe Biden's son recently went to China and attended an event where an attack happened. Afterward he was detained, questioned, released, and then returned to the US. Did his son carry out the attack?

The only thing we've learned so far today is that the NY Post in general, and their reporting on this case in particular, are both absolutely pathetic.

Its fine for the internet to speculate, but that useless rag put the photo of a couple guys on their front page, naming them the suspects.

Problem is, they were both innocent high school runners.

Everyone that was there is a suspect. Don't fool yourself!

I'll help you out. They're not true.

I don't know if you were trying to make a point, or are just being funny.

In case you are serious, a credible non-tabloid newspaper can't put someone's picture on the front page calling them a suspect unless they are absolutely certain.

No I really wasn't.

But they did.

So now what?
